He himself is not physically strong(mental/emotional is debateable). Unit 01 is.

Human = Yomiko Readman
Character = EVA-01. Due to lack of AT fields, any character from any other series stands no chance.

oh really? I'm willing to bet Simon the digger and the Gurren Lagann could take the EVA-1. and if he had any of the larger versions it wouldn't even be a challenge.

The Wikipedia article was too deep to give me a direct answer, but how do they fight in terms of combat? If they fought according to the rules of the Evangelion universe, technically they would have AT fields, but they would be too weak to do anything unless they had a laser with the electrical power of an entire country. So unless the Guarren Langann universe has a rule to bypass that, and the two fought on those terms, Unit 01 wins.

Yeah, I remember that. He probably deserves it, too.

The only other character that had anywhere near that kind of power was Haruhi, unconsciously destroying and recreating realities without even knowing it.

Firstly, it's Saiyans.

Secondly, both of the characters I mentioned would be able to easily destroy any of the Saiyans, so your statement is rather invalid.

The Show doesn't do into to much detail about how the giant robots work however the robots are independantly powererd, on to of that the GL can use this giant drill that can pierce anything, even and entire demension, I'm sorry to telly you but all the EVA-1 has are some guns, GL has a giant drill, and if you let me bring lord kamina back to life it has the most bad-ass pilot ever.
