I always thought of the Clash as a 70's band. other than that, I'm dissapointed in your poll choices, not only are you missing Belle and Sebastian, you're also lacking Blur.

I'm serious about this, BTW.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and why did you put U2 in this poll? they're Irish (not a part of the UK) and how many people actually like U2? they never struck me as hugely popular.
yes it is, your thinking of the republic of Ireland, N.Ireland is still part of the UK

Maiden wins lifetime achievement at Brits...gets no media coverage either. Shows how biased the press are.

I'd have put a vote in for Blur tho, they spanned a fair few genres and were creative.

Maybe you should not count U2 in this poll, they're Irish, not British. They might not like being lumped together.

Also, I vote for Pink Floyd.

As for U2, they're successful so they're British, the same way Scottish athletes are suddenly British when they win a medal at the Olympics.

Me, cynical?

Of those, Radiohead. I can't be bothered with the 'other' option, since my favourite band are long forgotten by all except the 20 or so hardcore fans that still take an interest.

Radiohead. I wish they'd do more US tours, though. Actually, maybe not, I wouldn't mind returning to Europe to see them. :)
