Poll: Best British Band (Pre-1980)

Okay, Cheesebob has done a best british band poll past 1980, in which I posted this question:

Why do you say everything pre-1980 sucks, when this includes The Beatles (the most successful band in the world ever) and Led Zeppelin (Who have been described as the best band of the 70s)?

So, as a result, I'm going to make one for before 1980 bands.

Oh and if you're wondering, yes, Deep Purple, The Clah, Pink Floyd and Queen all formed before 1980 which is why they're here.

I had to vote for the Beatles. They aren't my favourite from the list, but their influence is (arguably) greater than all the other bands there.

I was wondering why they were not on the list. All of the bands listed are good. However, the Beatles are the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. That's a fact...even though they are not my overall favorite band.

There aren't enough poll options for this poll to be valid. Several key bands are missing; Cream, The Rolling Stones and The Kinks being the most obvious absentees in my view.

Pink Floyd, particularly if we're talking about before the eighties, they kind of went downhill from 1979 onwards. Of course, that goes for music in general for the most part.
However, I think a poll might have been a bad idea, you don't have nearly enough options to include all the awesome pre-1980 British bands that deserve a mention.

The Sex Pistols formed in 1975 and God save the Queen was released in 1977.

Im going with Iron Maiden, again not on the list.
