No Sex Pistols? Ok since your facist poll wont have them i guess ill go with Queen although Cream isnt on there either...
They were 80's
And where the fuck is Black Sabbath?
They were SEVENTIES! they'd split up by 1978 for cryin' out loud.

Anyway.

BEATLES.

13 albums in 7 years, all good, generally accepted as the most important act of the 20th century, even ahead of Hendrix, Elvis and the stones.

The Beatles. It isn't even close. The Beatles might the best band of all time and revolutionized music. Think of how many classic songs they wrote. Beatles win in a landslide.

...Why aren't the Rolling Stones a part of the poll?

Of the bands listed I would vote for the Clash, but seriously, needs more goddamn Rolling Stones.

The Kinks anyone?
I did originally have the Kinks on there actually but I put something else there instead.

I didn't even realise they were pre-1980. Damn, they are amazing (NOT ENOUGH POLL SPACES)

EDIT: Due to popular demand, I have added the Stones to the list, but I have used up all the spaces and can't delete the poll, so you'll have to settle with that.

Where are ELP, Yes, King Crimson and the Nice? I think those would belong in that list for sure.

Iron Maiden was formed in 1975 but their first album wasn't released until 1980 so I'm not sure if they count for this thread.

Erm...Jimi Hendrix Experience anybody?
QFT. I voted for The Beatles because they did some really great tracks but I think that the Jimi Hendrix Experience were a better band.

Any one of those options would be a good pick except Deep Purple and The Rolling Stones.

It really could have gone several different ways for me, but I chose Pink Floyd mainly because I tend to listen to them more than the others.
