I was going to say South Park, then I remembered the brilliance of Looney Toons so Looney Toons it is for me.

Futurama is my favorite.

Robot Chicken, American Dad, and Family Guy have their moments, but usually they're just noise.

I'm gonna have to go with Venture Brothers. It's funny as all hell, and Brock Sampson is 100% pure, high-octane awesomeness.

Favorite is South Park for sure, but one I love that no one seems to remember is Clone High. That show was fantastic and never should have been canceled.

I think venture bros is easily cartoon for adults. As for normal cartoons Rocko's Modern Life takes the cake, for the gratuitous innuendo. This tagline was taken directly from the series "Chokey Chicken, were we choke our chickens by hand." :)

Well "The Thundercats" is my favorite from my childhood.

For modern ones I'd probably have to also give a nod to "Avatar" even though I've only recently started paying any attention to it.

I am not including Anime in this catagory since people tend to interpet Cartoons as western and anime as eastern.

There are some interesting adult and prime time cartoons out there, but truthfully they tend to get old, and pretty much recycle the same bits after a while. A lot of the Adult Swim lineup seems to do the same basic things with differant characters on differant shows after a while. It's still entertaining mind you, but it prevents me from calling any of them 'the best'.

Clone High was absolutely incredible. There are only 13 episodes but I LOVE that show to death.

Venture Bros.
It has everything.
EXTREMELY funny.
Still has an amazing story (9 of 10 AS shows live by random and continuityless)
And nerdy references galore. (It literally probably has more references than anything ever made ever)

The Venture Bros. Just watch this clip and try not to laugh.

Is there any way to get this video directly on this site?

Not only is it funny, the characters actually progress and the there is an actual story arc, though each episode also has its plots.
