I have the art book for FF9 and oh man is that stuff good, you really get a sense of the fantastic art design seeing it all in sketchy form, it even seems like there's a million places/things in Gaia you never got to see.j-e-f-f-e-r-s said:Aw man... all the love for Final Fantasy IX is making me feel warm and fuzzy. I remember a time when us FFIX fans had to content ourselves with the knowledge that ours was the series underdog, and that fellow fans of the game were spread few and far between. I can only assume that the re-release on PSN has allowed a lot of gamers to experience it who never had before. Which I'm totally fine with, because it's my favourite game ever.
Just look at some screenshots of the game. It's unbelievably beautiful. Not just in terms of graphics, although for the time they were exceptional, but in terms of art direction and world design. It's fucking jaw dropping:
Just looking at those screens, I want to pack my bags and move to Gaia. And that's one hell of a compliment to the art team at Square. FFIX has my favourite gameworld, bar none.

Also OP, I'll be amazed if you receive any explained votes for FFII. Have you played II (by which I absolutely do not mean IV, which is a great game)?
TROLL! I SEE YOU!Diesel- said:They all suck.
Boring Garbage Anime style pink JRPG games.
Wait, do you mean "Purple"? As in, something that is over-wrought, melodramatic, or needlessly complex? Because aside from "Purple," which was used even by the likes of George Orwell, you kinda make yourself sound like you have no idea what you are talking about.Diesel- said:They all suck.

And now I'm going to open up a completely identical topic just for this >busterkeatonrules said:Once more I see a "Best Final Fantasy Game" - thread, and once more I say IX.
IX gave the player a gigantic, immersive world to get lost in. Newer games give you a corridor. Besides, the more science-fictiony the series becomes, the more sterile and bland the games tend to feel. I like the traditional medieval setting. I also like the upbeat, carefree and optimistic attitude of main man Zidane - especially after trying to slog through VIII while dragging moody douchebag Squall along.
Oh - and the MUSIC!
'Nuff said.

*Sigh* Yes, because it worked sooooo well when the first person said it >_>Aeonknight said:the fact that you come into a thread asking which one you like just to say "ALL OF THEM SUCK" speaks volumes of your opinion's worth.SpectacularWebHead said:None of them. Final Fantasy as a property is an abomination of intellectual properties almost on the levels of Terribad carried by call of duty.
