Modern Warfare 2 (2009).
I could see why that's not on the list. Public perception and all.
Not that I care - IW can do set pieces like no one else and in MW2, they went all-in. I loved it. Easy as that.
Have you ever played Deus Ex? Just genuinely curious here.
Yup.
I can see how people love it and all. But it's not my thing. Just like some people find Hitman too boring.
I still am looking forward to Human Revolution.
And, yes, I also have played Half-Life 2. In 2010. Wasn't impressed much.
Knew I'd find you here!

Nice to see you not being flamed. Hell, people are AGREEING with you!
OK then. I picked "other". Chances are that those who know me will know exactly what I'm going to nominate, because I've said it what must be dozens of times now: Halo.
...Oh, so it's gotta be a single one? Damn. Umm... haven't played Halo CE (will be able to in a couple of weeks or so), Halo 2 is good but also often makes itself difficult through annoying means (like those invincible Brutes), Halo 3 was the first Halo game I ever played as well as my first 360 game and was very well polished in most respects, Halo 3: ODST was a damn good expansion that tried something different and was easily the most atmospheric of the games, and Halo: Reach absolutely perfected the gameplay in all respects (including level design)... but closer analysis of the story reveals a few holes.
So... I'm gonna have to go with Halo 3. Make no mistake, this is partly nostalgia talking, I'm fully aware of this. But I also just think it's the best overall. Goddamn, it's hard to concentrate on writing with the Naruto: Shippuden OST II playing in the background (electric guitars + pipe organs = whoawesome), and I could just let my 7 playthroughs speak for themselves, but basically:
- The enemy AI is brilliant and challenging, at least on the Covenant side.
- Each level is basically a series of mini-sandboxes - there's a great deal of freedom in every combat situation, so very few things ever happen the same way twice - giving it a near-infinite replay value (this is the same for all Halos, it's just very noticeable in Halo 3).
- The soundtrack is the best ever featured in a Halo game. Which is no mean feat.
- There is great variety in both enemies and weapons.
- The art style is as great as ever. You can actually see this most on some of the multiplayer maps, funnily enough.
- Hmm... anything else? Oh yeah, the story is good too. Resolves the main trilogy's overarching plot very well. Also, I recently read all the terminals. Too bad it wasn't on Legendary, but they were still interesting and informative on the background.
- The voice acting is great too!
OK, I think that's everything.
