What's your favourite?

My vote goes to North By Northwest. It's easily one of the best movies I've ever seen.
Sorry if you find the selection a little random.

Have you seen 'The Wrong Man'? That film is absolutly awesome.

If I had to pick from the list though, I would've voted for 'Psycho' but then I thought that'd be a bit too predictanle, but it's still one of his best films.

Rear Window gets my vote because it's such an incredible mind game right up till the end. I'm actually not a big fan of Vertigo mainly because I can't stand Midge.

True, but James Stewart is a damn fine actor.

While Psycho is and always will be a tense thriller classic, my vote goes to the Birds. I watched it during my Film and Television class at high school. When I walked outside there was a flock of birds up in the sky. For a second it was kinda scary. Then coming back to reality, I realised that the movie had made me edgy towards those birds. So in a way it kinda effected me for a few seconds. Plus the birds is generally a great movie. A cinema great.

North by Northwest is my favourite too. The way Cary Grant pulls Eva Marie Saint is awesome. It should always be that easy.

Yeah just dont try it in rl lol. O and you should watch Marnie if you liked Cary Grants style, Sean Connery makes Tippi Hedren marry him then tries it on, during their forced honeymoon!!

I voted north by north west because it has everything a film should have, mystery, action, suspense and abit of eye candy.

But i love alot of Hitchcocks films, so it was a tough choice. Granted some of his films were pretty rubbish, like Iron Curtain; yet thats expected seeing as he made so many films.

Psycho is just a masterpiece of camera work. Rear window for keeping the film set all in one area yet you never get bored. Rear window is similar to rope in that respect; which you dont have in your list. The birds is great, silly Tippi Hedren walking into that upstairs room! Too many films to discuss lol.

Rear Window has my vote.

I'm surprised North by Northwest has so many votes. I only saw it once, but I found the storyline chaotic and I didn't care about the characters. What made it a classic?

Rear Window. I love Vertigo, mainly for the music, but the suspense in Rear Window is a bit more ordinary for lack of a better word, which makes it just a bit more impactful.

Where's Rebecca? That's got to be one of the creepiest films I've ever seen. A friend of mine put it on when we were crashing round his one night, and afterwards half of us were afraid to go to sleep.
I'd have to agree with this one. Rebecca is pretty creepy and certainly takes the story on quite the twist.

Another awesome movie, which isn't known as much as a the others.

Yeah, definitely DEFINITELY my favorite out of all of his work. They're all so good, but this one really stands out despite it's less-than-mainstream status. Anyone ever see this and catch all of the (sometimes blatant) homosexual innuendo? I could go on for hours about everything I think I've found in that film.

Also, if anyone is interested in getting most of Hitchcock's "good" films on dvd: http://www.amazon.com/Alfred-Hitchcock-Masterpiece-Collection-Saboteur/dp/B000A1INJE/ref=pd_bxgy_d_img_b

I bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas when it was only $65... probably the best DVD investment I've ever made. Looks like they upped the price since then though =/

I adored the 39 steps.
I know, Larenxis! My first post was only 4 days prior to this thread's creation!
