AS the more astute of you may have gathered, I am looking for the best metaphor ever. Generally, the more meanings the better, and really weird. Something to the tune of, but better than:"her death was merely bitter icing on the ugly sponge cake of violence" (and you can see why I need help). Also, as a completely unrelated note, there will be a poll on whether you want to vote. There will, logically, be only one option and you figure out how many chose no.

EDIT

I don't care about the distinction between metaphor and simile (I knew it was there and what it was I just forgot to include both)

"Lose it every time I put it down like car-keys". Circuit Breaker, Hilltop Hoods.

"Never met her before, but I think I like her like a metaphor- It's hard to get". Not really a metaphor, but a "think about it" line nonetheless

Life is like pool; you don't know whether you are a solid or a stripe until you get a ball in a hole.

not the best one ever but funny none the less

She had a deep, throaty, genuine laugh, like that sound a dog makes
just before it throws up.

interesting how the wrote the words "Base 2" in binary. Very confusing chart but I doubt I'll ever need it as given how unatractive I am I'll be single for life.

I find that the reacation gay men get for coming out of the closet can be best likened to the reciever of this information waking up in the morning, to find that they have slightly larger breasts.

Mens reactions vary:
"Ug, what the hells that all about, i did not want to see that"
"Thats interesting, i doubt that happened overnight, i must have missed the gradual change"
"Its still the same moob as before right, the same moob i've known all my life?"

Womens reactions tend to stay on a similar track:
"is that?... FUCK YES!!!"

Yes women do love their gays, hope this helped somewhat.

Basic point: her death was but a small part of the violence.
I take it that this is a publicized event, revealing greater violence.

New version: Her death was but a pool of blood. When they shone the light around it, rivers of crimson were flowing.

Or: Like a grain of sand, was her death. Intricate, with many facets and jagged edges: its own unique beauty. But once the eye turned to find where it came from, a vast desert* lay streched out in all directions.

* You can add "of crime" or "that was crime" or such here.
