I still need to see 9, The Hangover and Sherlock Homes, but I'm going with Avatar, seen it twice and it's just fantastic. Runner up would be Inglourious Basterds.
And I really hope whichever 3 people put Twishite were being sarcastic
3-way toss-up between District 9, Up, and Zombieland (does that last one not count because it's a comedy? Screw you guys, it still kicked ass!). Oh, and honorable mention to Ponyo; how did everyone, including me, forget that? It wasn't the greatest of Miyazaki's movies, but, well, it's still one of Miyazaki's movies.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...It was not a good movie! The plot was an incoherent mess, you couldn't hear half the dialogue because the audio was terrible, the plot was jumpy as hell, and the characterization DID...NOT...EXIST! Seriously, I could not tell anyone apart save Dillinger, and even then I had some trouble. The romance plot was tacked on and out-of-nowhere (I'm gonna get a lot of "it's meant to be that way" replies, so I'll say this: I'm fine with love-at-first-sight romances if they're in character, but at least set them up some, otherwise it's just an excuse for bad writing), and when the movie might have been on its way to being decent with the establishment of the FBI, it pretty much jumped to them being a plot device for finding Dillinger! Sure, it may have been historically accurate, but if you fail as a movie that doesn't matter too much, now does it?
Sorry, I just got so angry when I saw it lauded as an intelligent action movie and then saw what it actually was. I wouldn't be half as rage-y if people weren't praising Michael Mann's name and citing Public Enemies as some stand-alone intelligent film in a sea of dumb flicks.
Edit: After seeing some of the comments, I need to see The Hurt Locker, don't I? I don't think it was shown where I live.
If someone picks Twilight and they are not any of the following:
1 - A Girl under 16
2 - A Woman over 30
3 - A Flamboyant Gay Man
4 - Affected by a pre-existing mental disorder which limits your ability to spot retarded drivel
..That person should be set on fire, shot, drowned and tortured. Or, at the very least, have their testicles removed using rusted medical tools... (The kinds one would find littering the floors in games like Fallout 3 or Condemned)
For a while, I thought Revenge of the Fallen would be the best movie. However, that's because it was really the only movie I saw in theaters, and despite all of you whining that it was horrible (I'm looking at YOU, MovieBob), I thoroughly enjoyed it for what it was.
And then I saw Avatar last night. Ho. Ly. CRAP. It was AMAZING. Seriously, Avatar RULES. Go see it. NOW.
So, I chose Avatar in the poll.
On a side note: New Moon? Seriously?!? Even the Twilight fans at my school said it sucked!
Uh...there are too many good ones. I think my brain hurts. >.o
I'm going to say Gran Torino. Because I thought it was amazing and the ending blew me away. There. xD
gran turino was the best movie i've ever seen .... and i thought avatar sucked, the special effects were good, but the storyline wasn't, but on the poll i would say "the hangover"
