Poll: Best Music?

I've been purplexed by why some many people like the crappy music of today. I guess its kinda slim pickings for good orginal music but I'm starting to lose interest in music. Maybe I'm just picky with my mental stimultion but I can't see anything positive about todays music and can't see it going anywhere I'd want to go. So I thought I'd try to be convinced other wise that peoples taste in music has sunk into the proverbial septic tank and tell me what you think is the best music of all time is. Say your favorite bands, songs, albums, genres ect...
Just restore my faith in humanity and say some good ones and doen't say any of that shitty depressing Emo crappy or that Angry Cookie Monster screamer music or that booty shaking music that dares to claim the name of Rap. None of those is music, just rape of your ear!

But really put it up there. My Favorite bands are Radiohead, The Shins, Pavement, Sonic Youth, LCD Soundsystem, Wilco, Built to Spill, etc.

Honestly I like any music that took thought and talent to write/perform. My favorite band is Avenged Sevenfold but I like lots of other kinds of music as well.

I like how you didn't throw hip-hop to the wayside and simply trashed modern hip-hop which had a much higher crap to classic ratio. You Sir(Ma'am?) have won my respect.

Saying that not all new hip-hop is bad, you just have to look for it. My favorite two newer artists are Asheru and MF Doom.
