What I'm really getting into now is metal, rock, and techno combined.
Pendulum(more heavy on the D&B side), Sky Eats Airplane, Enter Shikari, Devil Wears Prada. Good stuff like that.
i'm more of an alternative sort of guy; i like smashing pumpkins, pixies, husker du, r.e.m., beastie boys (80's only), the modern lovers and television. my favourite bands, however, are pretty predictable, the stones, floyd, beatles, nirvana, ramones and marvin gaye. oh, and i love joni mitchell. also aracde fire
Of course I couldn't throw the older Hip-Hop to the sideline and ignore it like a red headed stepchild. The older stuff was fascinating because of the stories they told through their lyrics and more often than not their stories were true. Gangsta hip-hop in general nowadays is abunch of self absorbed dipshits stuck so far up their own ass their in danger of choking on the back of their teeth singing about how great they are with the same words with only slight variations in lyrics and are ultimatlly only concerned about their image as thugs than anything else. Gangsta Rappers of old sang about their experiences and were more like urban poets as opposed to making shit up as they go along. Hacks like Souja boy and 50cent will NEVER be Tupac or Biggy and thet're just chacing the shadows of the truly great Rappers.
I personally like hip-hop and its old school beats and artist like Tupac, Biggy, Immortal Technique, Eminem, Asheru and the Hip-Hop influences in Linkin Park and Gorillaz. The soundtrack of Samurai champloo is really good too.
For your Taste you have my respect as well good sir(I'm a guy by the way by the way) Kudos!
I only had so much room and could only list the genres that I could think of of the top of my head. I listen to all sorts of stuff too, usually rock but I listen to stuff like rap, Classical and J-rock alot too. XD
