halo is the best multi player game out there offering casual play for mainstream audience as well as MLG in the masses

Hey guys, I was just wondering what FPS you would rather play online. My opinion is skewed more towards the 360 though because its all I game on but feel free to leave your favourite online FPS in the comments.

No valve games in your depressing list.

Even tho a valve game isn't my favourite, they are all better than the ones you've listed.

you seem to be missing a valve game, for that you must be punished. team fortress 2 is the best, and/or bad company 2 if you like realism

I'm offended there was not one valve option up their, but TF2 and l4d2 are easy winners, and i know its been said but please re-title the thread "Best Online shooter?" if you want to put gears of war up there.

Needs moar TF2, but of those I'd say Mewtwo just sneaks in ahead of Bad Company 2 and Halo 3. ODST doesn't have an online matchmaking, it has Halo 3's complete online matchmaking.

I like MW2, but play very bi-polar. So, shallowly based on my gaming ability, I'd say Bad Company 2, 'cause I'm actually pretty good at that.

I am going to have to say either Team Fortress 2 Or Counter Strike.
Team Fortress 2 for PC is one of the most balanced games I have played plus the updates every 3 or so months brings something fresh to the game so it never really gets old.

Counter Strike is what brought me into the Realm of Online FPS's and I still play it to this day.

my favorite is COD:MW. tomorrow im buying team fortress 2 and left 4 dead 2 together, so that might change soon.

My favourite, at least at the moment, has to be Bad Company 2.

Gotta be bad company 2, nothing beats bringing down a building with C4.
Also Gears of War isn't an FPS, it's third person...

Nothing wrong with having fun when you do well.

I still believe Halo 3 is the best online game, despite me having Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 in my collection. It is strategic in game modes such as CTF and Sabotage, but it's also somethig you can just go in for a blast. .

I've always found Halo 3 good fun, I was never very good but it never really frustrated me either, unlike certain games in the poll.

I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more votes actually.

CS:S is always fun...On the right servers or with the right people.Otherwise it can be a tad boring.
TF2 is the best of modern online FPS's.With it's chaotic gameplay and dark humor.
Killing Floor is a good PVE Co-Op game.And will keep people like me playing until I get all perks onto level 6.

Team Fortress 2. It's a team FPS that actually requires teamwork to win.
And the humour is great. The voice lines are gold.
