Sorry, I didn't have enough room for Yellow, Crystal, Platinum, Fire Red, and Leaf Green.

I personally think Gold is the best because of the ability to go back to the original world, it also probably has the longest playability because of that.

GSC was the best generation ever. HGSS comes close, but is sadly beaten back down with the ugly retarded stick by Kris, who is infinitely better than her replacement kotone/soul/whore.

I vote Yellow Version, because it was based before pokemon got stupid, and is the best of the original three.

My favorite is Gold. I loved Johto and all its inhabitants. And it had LOTS of replay value.

My second favorite is Emerald.

OP:My favorite generation of Poke'mon was always the second one, you get to go to Kanto after the Elite Four, it had the cell phone system, I like Ho-oh better than Lugia for some reason, and the only complaint I have is the graphics (Which won't matter when the remake comes out).

Going back to old regions was osmething they never should have gotten rid of.
As for diamond/pearl/platinum, I was done with the series after Emerald, just like the world should be before they fuck it up even more
OT: you can get Lugia/Ho-oH/Entei/Suicune/Raikou in silver/gold so I never found a use for crystal because thats all I really played those games for;getting a kickass party of my starter and the legendaries.
