I have a hard time deciding between TIE Fighter, KotOR or Dark Forces. All 3 are very good game but for very different reasons.

TIE Fighter gave me the chance to play as part of the Empire. I loved that. Besides that, the game was really well done and it had a load of great missions (save a few horrible escorts jobs) and an interesting story. It still is the game that supports my idea that the Empire in fact was not evil and was doing the right thing. It also showed a little of the inner workings of the Empire and the power politics between the leaders. Perfect.

KotOR; well, I don't think I need to elaborate much on that one. Gave new life to the vision of Star Wars and avoided being dragged into the mess that is the new movies and the lame EU (apart from the Zahn books about Thrawn. They were awesome).

Dark Forces I remember wanting to play for SO long when I was a youngster. When I finally got the chance I was awed. It captured the spirit perfectly and introduced Kyle Katarn (before he got with the Jedi mojo). He was just a bounty hunter and the game managed to run parallel to the movies and it just worked great. I still miss Jan Ors.

The common thing in both TIE Fighter and Dark Forces that I love the most is that the games was about "common" people in the Star Wars universe. Neither my pilot in TIE Fighter nor Katarn was awesome Jedi or generals or anything like that. They did important jobs and may have saved the galaxy but not because the Force was strong in them.

Gah. I'll go with TIE Fighter. I still play that game every now and then.

Jedi Knight series. It gives you the most options for how you want to play, it has many different weapons, three different types of lghtsaber comabt and a heap of force powers. The combat in it is infinitly better than other Star Wars games I have played as well. Kotor just had dungeons and dragons combat with a Star Wars skin.
and yet it worked. the fact that it used the D20 system basically meant that the developers didn't have to do much work in actually building the core, and could focus on the details. Which is really what made it great.

I actually liked KOTOR 2. I know it got a lot of bad press, mostly because it was unfinished. I actually quite liked the fact that there really was an excellent opportunity to explore the dark side, especially through the PC's relationship with Kreia. KOTOR 1 basically insisted that to be dark side, you had to be callous, stupid and just mean. In KOTOR 2 you were more sneaky, manipulative and cunning style of evil. Palpatine style evil rather than thug with a board with a nail in it evil.
The fighting is really bad in KOTOR it takes little skill to play. You can queue up three moves straight away and if you have built your charecter right, it will kill all others with these three moves. Also there was a massive difficulty spike with the last boss. The story was interesting but that dosen't make up for the poor combat, most fights I didn't even need to move around.

Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader for Gamecube. Not only the best rendition of the Death Star trench run ever, there's also the Battle of Endor, including a direct assault on 2 Star Destroyers at once. Although Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike was a vastly inferior game on its own merits, it DID include the ENTIRE game of Rogue Leader as a 2-player co-op game, which is even more awesome. Maybe you like lightsabers, but when I was a kid the thing that had me obsessed with Star Wars was the spaceship battles. If you're a fan of the Star Wars universe, maybe one of the RPGs would be more your thing, but if you're a fan of the MOVIES (the good i.e. original ones at least) then you CANNOT do better than Rogue Leader.

Battlefront 2, though the AI wasn't very ood at parts. Most of the time I could wltz into to an enemy base ( wiithout shooting) and everyone would ignore me.

i have never played KOTOR, but i know about battlefront, and it has been the only star wars game i wasn't so disappointed in that i wanted to punch George Lucas.

Rogue Leader. You played through bits of the film (who the hell doesn't want to do the trench run themselves?) and the parts that aren't from the films are great too. Plus, it's really hard in places.

best use of star wars moments has to be Armed and Dangerous just for the Hoth related cutscene where one character shoves another up an animals arse to survive the cold, only the animal isnt dead and it starts running around bellowing with two legs sticking out of its bum.

KOTOR has to win this hands down every time. although multiplayer of battlefront is good fun.

Tough one between Battlefront and X-Wing/Tie Fighter/Rogue Squadron.
But given the amount of time I spent with Rogue Squadron I'm gonna have to go for that.

I really liked Lego Star wars due to levels of humour and I did get addicted to if for ages, plus drop in/out co-op was a great addition and the first time I experienced it in a game. Battle front is close second, few things are as fun doing 4 player co-op space battles (especially when you all try to attack at the same since it often ends with at least one humorous team kill or mistake)

Darth Maul as an unlockable character in Tony Hawk 3 is the "Best use of the star wars franchise."

Star Wars battlefront 2 was awesome. I wish I had just bought THAT game when I had the chance instead of waiting until after I got the lousy movie game adaptation with the boss fight with Dooku that I never finished.

Battlefront 2.

Either KOTOR 1 or Battlefront 1. Battlefront 2 was a bit boring when it introduced playable jedi. I've never liked hero units in games (Probably because in RTSs you have to keep them alive).

Best use of Star Wars franchies? You mean the episodes? Kotor 1&2. It barely referenced episodes 1-6 (lol Traya), but took the elements we love about Star Wars and projected them well.
