Of the choices, I'm going to have to pick Brink.

Don't get me wrong, I thought they were all let-downs. But at least with Homefront and Duke Nukem Forever the letdowns weren't a surprise. The things I don't like about those two were things that I kind of expected would happen.

Brink on the other hand failed to deliver in a way that, to me, came completely out of left field. I wasn't expecting the ridiculous amount of customization that on the box is described as, and I quote, "Near-Endless Customization: Create a character that is truly unique," to feel so completely shallow in practice. There are so few actual options for character customization that pretty much everyone ends up looking exactly the same anyway. You can't even choose custom colors, you have to pick one of ten or so pre-set color combinations. Then there's the weapons. The majority of them feel completely useless since there's a handful that just completely outclass everything else, and most of the weapon mods really don't add all that much variety. And I'd like to point out that the customization of your character's appearance and weapon loadout are both hindered by the fact that the majority of the choices have to be unlocked by leveling up, further reducing the customization available to you out of the box. The single player story is as weak as it is short, being easily beatable in an hour or two by even the most unskilled of FPS players. And once you get to the multiplayer it's really not much better, since all of the multiplayer maps are literally the exact same maps as the singleplayer campaign.

Brink had been so hyped up that the level to which it failed to deliver on its promises just made it seem that much more hilarious. I really just can't help but laugh.

I haven't bought a disappointing game this year yet... I don't buy many games. I find it disappointing that Yahtzee won't be doing an e3 video this year, I realize he can't, but it still disappoints me.

Aside from that, the announcement of the new Brothers in Arms game, that made me rage pretty hard.
Oh and this too.

The biggest letdown? They keep showing me Skyrim teaser trailers when I watch an Escapist video. Because my next damn thought is invariably, "Oh, my God. Is that coming out next Tuesday?" Only to be gut-checked by reality saying it's five months away.

What the hell, guys? What do you want me to do? Wait harder? I'm going to need to go to the hospital if I wait any harder.

I personally think that dragon age 2 is the biggest disappointment. It took everything that made the first dragon age good, made it stupidly simple, and put a coat of polish over it.

The year ain't over yet. Plenty of miserary and disapointment yet to go. Biggest disappointment however has to be minecraft winning on the escapist, and the amount of god damn adverts. I know, publisher club removes them on the escapist, doesn't mean everytime I finsh watching nostalgia critic or Cinema Snob I won't get the Gears Advert.

I'd say LA Noire was. The gameplay was boring and really didn't matter since you could skip half of it anyway. And the characterization of Cole Phelps was just atrocious.

That goddamn travesty of a game, Homefront. People slated Duke Nukem? Fair enough, but equally as much dissapointment should have gone on Homefront. There was absolutley nothing in it that interested me. It's another run of the mill shooter with a different enemy.

Also, the fact that we get no Half Life: Episode 3 this year.

:(

The economy.

Oh, you mean a video game. Dragon Age 2, for me. I was really psyched up until the first reviews started to come in. Bioware, I am disappoint.

Considering that it's only halfway through the year, I really can't say. I guess so far I'd go with DA2. I mean, it's not so much that I didn't like the game, but that Bioware lost so many loyal fans because of one fluke. I really expected more from both the players and the devs.

DNF gets the prize in my eyes, for the amount of time they were making it for it is unacceptable that it sucks this hard and was basically a clone of every main stream shooter out there.

Dude, 2011 isn't yet half over. Isn't it a bit premature to be starting a thread like this? There's still plenty of time for something to come out that will be far more disappointing than anything put out yet.
But it's probably going to be Duke Nukem. With 13 years of hype, there's no fucking way that game was going to be good enough for the people who waited.
Of course, I never really got into Duke Nukem to begin with, so it doesn't disappoint me in the least.
