Even though Bioshock 2 didn't have the same atmosphere as the first, (probably due to the fact Irrational didn't develop it) it did some things better and the game seemed to evolve fantastically. Still, I can't wait for Irrational's next crack at the Bioshock series.

I'm currently playing it and I'm enjoying it just as much as the original.

However, I'm starting to think starting it on hard was unwise.

I thought bioshock 2 was a great game. the weapons and plasmids were a good improvement from the first game, the story was excellent it drew me in more than the first game did. also the DLC minerva's den is quite excellent, another good story and wonderful environment.

i liked bioshock 2 but bioshock 1 was way better i just felt too overpowered as a big daddy so it stop being scary and it just became a very good looking FPS with a good story so its a good game but the first was superior

I will go on record and say that I found Bioshock to be a truly excellent game with one of the best end game twists ever, except that it was quite repetitive.

Typical level: Go to new level, explore it, kill some Splicers, fight a Big Daddy or two, Harvest or Save a few of the creepy little girls, upgrade your abilities, rinse and repeat. There was no variation in this at any point (as I recall and admittedly, it has been a while since i played the first one).

I skipped Bioshock 2 for a long while because while I found the story and envrironments in Bioshock to be quite compelling the gameplay was, as I said, repetitive. But I found Bioshock 2 at Target recently for 15 bucks and I figured, repetitive or not, it's only $15.

Sadly, the gameplay did not changed for the most part. Yeah, you are now a prototype Big Daddy (whose in-game behavior and control is nearly the same as the former protagonist), you now have to protect the creepy little girls whilst they gather the ADAM and there are the additional Big Sisters and Splicer Brutes. Other than that though, the Splicers are the same, the hacks the feel the same, the fights are the same, the plasmids are the same, the guns are different variations of the same ... even the story and enviroments which were so novel and compelling the first time around have a distinct feeling of sameness about them.

The new additions are nice, dual wielding weapons and plasmids, the Brute splicer and Big Sister fights are tense and fun encounters and not having to juggle between physical and gene tonics was a great idea. But it's too much of the same for me.

i gave it a thumb sideways.

I would expect the "sameness" was one of the primary motivations in Bioshock: Infinite. Get away from the "i've done this before" feeling and open the world of Bioshock up.

There has to be more to it than this.

I liked very much Bioshock 2. It`s true that in Bioshock 1, the plot was really complex, in the first 3 hours we where just in automatic, asking ourselves WTF all time trying to understand the plot, and knowing right up the begginig that would be a really complex plot. In bioshok 2, the plot seems kinda simple: "Your a Big daddy, a prototype, with emocions, not like the other cunts. You need your old little sister to get the fuck away from rapture, so find her, *****!", but when we keep play the game, we realise that there´s more than just that, and before you now, everything you thoght that would happend is raped, buttfucked and put on fire! Also, there´s a best moral sistem, more endings, dual-weilding weapons and plasmids, more original weapons, multiplayer mod, more variety of enemies, enemies are better distributed by the levels, and the neutral and good ending is just heartbreaking.

The only problem I really had with it was the fact that the NPC's never really treated you like a Big Daddy. They kept asking me why I was doing it. BECAUSE IM A DRONE ENCASED IN A SCUBBA SUIT, I DONT NEED A REASON BESIDES FROM YOU HAVING ASKED!!! Story was still interesting and the gameplay was better, proberly due to you being a Big Daddy so able to take a bigger hit.

I finished Minerva's Den last night. Nice little twist at the end, very enjoyable. Currently level 29 on the multiplayer, frantic as hell.

I love Bioshock simply for the way it looks, I know its shallow but style has always been the key thing that first attracts me to a game, while its the story and gameplay that causes me to stay... abit like women... Oh my God... to... nerdy... to... compr... hend... NERGGGEREGGH.

I loved it. A lot of people trashed it, especially over the "gathering" sides with the little sisters, but I liked them. I thought it added some strategy to the gathering, rather than just harvest or save. It is fairly dumbed down version, no crafting and all that jazz. The story isn't as tight or affecting. I also wish they had fleshed out the Big Sister angle a bit more.

But I still loved it and have played through it three times...

Also Minerva's is the BEST DLC I have every bought. Best value DLC too.

I liked it and it's better than BioShock.

There's 9 poll options, people shouldn't be afraid to use them all.

Bioshock 2 is a good stand alone game.

The gameplay was great if not better than bioshock 1

The plot is ok stand alone but compared to the first one it really doesn't look good.
