As is clear from the fourms, Bioshock and Half Life 2 are both games close to many escapists hearts. Both are similar in terms of being purely story based linear FPS held in high acclaim. But when it comes down to it, is your favourite?

I say Bioshock because the game play is a little smoother in my opinion. But that is the most difficult question I have seen on the escapist. Good job.

Sorry, I think HL2 is one of the most overrated games of all time. Wasn't overwhelmed by Bioshock either, but I still prefer it.

Both are overrated, but Half-Life 2 managed to keep my attention longer.
Still confused about it.

Bioshock. I found it to be more immersive, and the plot twist through the middle is jaw-dropping.

Bioshock, Half Life 2 stuck me as another over the shoulder dime a dozen fps with a physics engine thrown in oh hooray. That and Bioshock was pretty much a watered down system shock 2 so if anything it had fond nostalgia backing it up in my eyes.

They're both really close in my opinion, but I'd have to go with Bioshock. It was just really unique with a wonderful art style.

I vote Bioshock, the game was more immersive.

Plus you get to shoot insects out of your arm.

Bioshock, had a story that I absolutely adored, and the game play was fun. Also, I haven't played Half-Life. *sits and waits for the horde of people yelling "BLASPHEMER!"*

If I had to choose, I'd go with Half-Life 2. It came first, and is therefore more nostalgic to me, and it has more variation in the gameplay. In Bioshock, you're always under the sea, fighting splicers and Big Dadddys. HL2 mixes it up with spooky zombie bits, epic strider battles, giant bug sheparding, and the awesome part at the end.

Still, I love them both.
