Smiling for 8 hours straight, photo sessions that last for 30 minutes, drafty costumes? No thank you.
I doubt someone as radical as I would make it into old age, but I appreciate the offer. Nothing like the persistent smell of rotting flesh and uncontrollable hunger to truly appreciate Cheerios.
Really though, I would totally do this. It's getting paid to talk to people, which is pretty much ideal. As long as the costume isn't ghastly.

I mean...if we're even willing to do it, if we could, for some of us; perhaps they're not such a degrading stereotype?

Well, because we know the games and these companies, we have an ulterior motive to say yes to a gig like this. The booth girls you usually see have no friggin' idea about the stuf they're promoting. For me that's the main reason I think they're a pretty weird phenomenon, even if it's completely understandable from a marketing perspective.
As for degrading, well, you might as well not be a model at all then, eh?
