Poll: Borderlands 2 Release Date Officially Announced

Now granted, this isn't the first thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.339979-Poll-Borderlands-2-Has-a-Release-Date] I've made about this but this time I'm sure. Borderlands 2 will be released 18th September in the US and 21st September internationally. Here's the official video:


The new game features four all new characters: Salvadore, Maya, Axton and Zero and introduces new antagonist 'Handsome Jack". Personally I'm looking forward to another Borderlands but I'm hoping for those of us who poured endless hours into the first game that there is some sort of reward.

I will be the first to admit that I really found the first borderlands to be extremely boring. That trailer was more entertaining then the first game ever was, the cl4p-tp dance was a nice touch.

Hopefully the second one will be better, as long as they stop using the same reskin for 90% of the weapons and put in a decent storyline I might be up for checking it out.

I'm no fan of grinding and I always found the gameplay to be monotonous at best.

Plus, developers, if your story is going to be meaningless tripe then please save yourself the effort and refrain from inflicting it on us.

I do like the visual style though.

Everyone seems to hate Claptraps, I thought they were pretty entertaining myself. Sure, when they constantly scream that they're 'leaking' they can get a bit annoying but that should be extra incentive to go find that repair kit!

OMFG it has COLORS! it's not all just brown and grey! After seeing this and BF3, I'm actually getting hope that the brown-gritty shooter days may be dying!

I am excited. I never played the first one because my PC at the time couldn't handle it but I will be picking this one up on launch day.

So, every trailer out there needs a dubstep song, right? Why dont they pick a decent dubstep song for once?

Decent dubstep? I wasn't aware there was a category of dubstep other than 'God Awful'

I must admit that I want 4 player split-screen and I'm disappointed that this trailer implies that I'll be limited to 2 player local.

You know what I noticed most about that trailer?

They showed off a bunch of guns and almost all of them looked completely different from one another.

But still, looks good. I liked the first, it just needed a bit more story and a bit more gun variation. So far, the trailer fulfils one of those, but I'll hold my breath.

Very excited. Loved the first game and have played the crap out of it. Just hope they make it a bit easier solo this time around when it comes to the bosses. They could be a bit... unfair sometimes.

Or perhaps it was just I who sucked, which I'm sure someone will point out.

I liked Borderlands, although I didn't spend that many hours into it, and mostly played it while drunk, for some odd reason. But I can say I'm very interested in it. Will probably get it after release when it'll be on sale and/or if I haven't already got a pile of other games that desire to be played, which is quite impossible as Civ V expansion, Diablo III (with some reservations) and hopefully CS:GO will be released before that, adding to the pile, and I can't think of better and more time-consuming games than those.

but dammit if I'm ever excited for this, I loved the siren class in the 1st one, although I did play through the game with all 4 characters, I just enjoyed Lilith more, looking forward to playing as Maya

I hate your face. Nero is awesome. Doomsday isn't their best song, but it's better than any Skrillex or whatever other crappy Dubstep is out there.

As for the game... well, I'm joy puking my face off.
