revolvers don't get better than this one : "The High Explosive .44 Magnum fires armor-piercing rounds useful for close-quarter combat scenarios. It is the only weapon in the SRPA arsenal certified for use with glycerin rounds. Each slug carries a small, explosive charge that can be remote-detonated from a switch near the trigger guard."Haseo21 said:I heard that they actually had 17,000,000 guns in that game
I sure hope at least one of them is a revolver
One interview I read said it was somewhere between a million and 17 million, but they aren't quite sure. They know what the effects do individually, but they can be combined to make new effects. Also, if there ARE 17 million guns then, even if Borderlands gets the player population of World of Warcraft, after customisation and extra modifications, it's still near-statistically impossible for any two players to have the exact same gun.TikiShades said:Isn't this the game where they used some robot to make a million different guns? There was some guy who found a shotgun that made people melt or something, and the game designer was surprised.
I dunno, this could be a great idea and an awful idea at the same time.
Huh? Of course they were RPG's, I don't know how they could of been any more of an RPG, every element of an rpg is there except you play in first person.siege_1302 said:The FPS, RPG hybrid has been tried before, I think. At least you've got games like Oblivion, Fallout 3 which are RPGs from the first person. I don't think they were true RPS games though. Borderlands looks to tweak that concept in an interesting way, and it certainly sounds like a fun idea even if it's not well implemented.
It's more like 17,000,000 comibinations of 5 guns' parts. I mean, you aren't going to go out and find a chicken-shaped guitar lightning sniper. Its just typical guns that shoot different ammo.Haseo21 said:I heard that they actually had 17,000,000 guns in that game

I think that R is supposed to be an F the S isn't supposed to be a G. Pretty sure he meant FPS, I can see how it would confuse you though. I think it's a great idea and it looks promising so far, really hope gearbox can pull it off. I have faith in them, since they made Half Life: opposing Force.lightbeats said:Huh? I don't think fallout 3 really pulled off the FPS side of it that well, it didn't really try to, not that that's a bad thing.
Borderlands won't be as good of an RPG as fallout 3, but hopefully it will overcome that with great FPS elements.
It really comes down to execution, if its got great fps game mechanics, good rpg story and the rest, I mean it could be a game of the year contender but I have a feeling it's going to fall short somewhere along the line.
Great idea, but lets wait and see.
