He is funny. Would rather have a funny toff in charge of the country than a toff who tries to be down with the kids (Cameron).

He makes a Teriible Mayor (yes I would Know) but is a brilliant comedian.
When posed a difficult question recently he responded " yes, but if you have ham, you make ham and eggs. If you have eggs."

I'm amazed he was voted in.

He's actually quite good at obfuscating stupidity, to steal a phrase from TV Tropes.

Who in the fuck is Joris Bohnson or whatever?
Mayor of London. Frequent guest on topical comedy shows, to boot.
yes, but only when they have no-one else to take the mick out of.

I love the man. He's a fantastic source of comedy, and can take a joke about himself, but is also an interesting politician to follow, seems more human than other politicians and is, despite appearances, an incredibly smart guy. I may be a Liberal voter, but if he were head of the Tories, I might consider them a bit more.

I think that Boris Johnson is the cleverest politician in the world. He has got look of idiocy that means you can let him get away with everything. Also, he is a very good politician and has a great IQ.
He is not a fool in my opinion and should be prime minister!
Do you think he is a buffoon?
He's smart enough to realise that he will have more fun and more of an actual effect as Mayor of London, than someone in the thrall of the defence, oil, banking and pharmaceuticals sectors.

I'm not sure about him politics-wise, but he can be funny sometimes, is pretty much the perfect charicature of a comedian, and is also, apparently a vigilante [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8340865.stm]

Being liberal doesn't mean you have to automatically hate all conservatives you know...

OT: While I don't support his party, I think he's very good at what he does and the 'buffoon' thing is a very clever act.

Uh, forgive me for being rude, but why are you posting this?

1. I'm pretty sure you're American, so your opinion of London's mayor is even more meaningless than mine.
2. Why are you posting if you don't know who he is?
3. Why don't you use Google?

As for me, I know he's smarter than he looks, and certainly more intelligent than he acts. He's done a few (Very good) documentaries about the world and comes across as very intelligent in those.

Of course, I never considered that under the facade of a bumbling buffoon could lie a bumbling buffoon.

Boris Johnson is a very clever and well educated man. He has that upper class madness that makes him a great character and if he was running for PM id vote for just for a laugh (id also make Prince Phillip forgien secratery....dear christ can you imagine that fun that that would cause).

You know as well as I do that you should look things up before entering a thread. It's a waste of a post to ask what the topic of the OP is.

I love the guy. He opened a speech by saying "Manchester is one of the few cities I have yet to insult." He's one of the few poloiticians that I like.

Yes but I do, you see I specialize in irrational hatred, its kind of my stock and trade.
