Poll: Bring Back Legacy Of Kain

I dont know if a lot of you will agree with me, or maybe even alot of you will remember the series; but I believe they should bring back the Legacy Of Kain series. Im talking of Soul Reaver, Blood Omen 1 & 2 and of course Defiance.

I recently have gone through parts of Defiance, its enjoyable enough to continue playing; but my most memorable time with the series was playing as Kain in Blood Omen 2; mist walking then doing an assassination was pure genious even as simple as it was.

I remember Legacy of Kain being frustrating, dull, and having incredibly cheap enemies with bullshitty attacks, so I'm saying no. Concept was reasonable but really, nowadays we have the fans to worry about as well.

Make it a better game in every regard and they'll complain that it was changed too much so now it sucks.

Leave it the same and people will complain that nothing was updated so now it sucks.

It's no win and I'd hate to see the flame wars about it.

I have Defiance on the PC, let me tell you the platform sections without analogue control is hard.

But the gaming series as a whole is brilliant, unfortunatly the girl who wrote it doesn't work for that dev anymore, so not looking good.

I tried to get my girlfriends laptop to accept my PS3 controller due to Defiance's terrible camera angles and how rediculous it was to fly with Raziel from post to post.

I do admit, Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver had really basic enemies and that could even branch out to other games but you are right MelasZepheros, the concept was amazing.

Give it shiny new graphics and a 7 hour gameplay, and all the 14year olds interested in the genre will be happy. For at least a little while.

If it got remade or brought back now, it would suck, it would have some stupid DRM attached to it and you would have to buy a good ending thru DLC

I loved blood omen 2 on the gamecube I'd pay good money for a a sequel.

Ok... gonna be unpoplualr here but I loved Legacy of Kain, apart from Blood Omen 2 which is just plain boring. Defiance was the best one mainly cause Soul Reaver got v confusing on where you needed to go and SR2 was too short. My main reason though was how pleased I was that the dev's weren't afraid of a complicated story, seriously try making a timeline out of the series v confusing.

I'm a long-time fan of the series, and I'm all for another installment.

Few games can instill a rich story, dark characters, and brooding atmosphere like Legacy of Kain and sell the concept of vampirism, all while keeping a straight face.

I would be more than happy to see another iteration.

Honestly, I don't like Kain very much as a character, so without raziel... ehh i'm not too interested.

Legacy of Kain is a really funny thing though, the graphics were never all that great in any of the games, the controls were clunky, they enemy AI was boring, and the world was packed with bugs.

But I -still- love to play it for the absolutely brilliant dialog.

The series needs one more game just to tie up the story, defiance ends with a cliffhanger and then the series is shelved WTF??!

The voice acting and the story were all top-notch, it's a shame the guy who voice the elder god die a few years ago he was awesome.

Yes the normal enemies are all pathetic but the series sealed a place in my heart the moment I drop a giant metal potato masher on top of Melchia's head, I was ten at the time and there was nothing more awesome than that.

I think Kain was an amazing character in certain aspects which held entertainment value by asserting his combat prowess; while Raziel was complex and he did indeed hold a lot of my interest when it came to his dialogue and back story.

I own Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver, and no game today has ever given me the "satisfactory shivers" that the opening cinematography held.

Malchia was very memorable; hes the reason I got back into the series, its just because I remembered exactly how to kill him even almost 11 years after originally playing it.

Legacy of Kain is still my favourite game series ever. I first played Soul Reaver 1 and was hooked from the first cut scene. It has the best voice acting in any game period.
A Story that is worth following just in itself. The controls seem dated now but the games are magic.

i'm saying yes because i did love most of the games, but i have to say there's a lot of room for error if they were to make another game. it could just go down the shitter like so many other good series...
