Exactly, they say "I like this this and this, because I like this in games." So, I can assume if I like the latter this in games, I might like it too.

Reviewers who present their reviews as objective fact are just silly, and an arbitrary score tacked on to most is pretty representative of that.
Well, that and the articles are entitled "Wot I think" =P

I wasn't planning on picking it up anyway right away, probably will bargain bin it later. I would wait for the review here or by Blistered Thumbs before I formulate an opinion.
your going to formulate your opinion after reading someone elses opinion

are you really that dense
Coming from the man who can't use punctuation or use the correct version of YOU'RE, supreme irony..........Don't be unpleasant on these forums please
OT: it looks like a pretty cool game, it'd be a shame if it wasn't up to scratch.
lol, you're is the same as you are...so i was right hows that for irony?

No look at your first line :) so no you weren't right sorry :)
my bad i was in a rush when i got on this site, i think everyone should form their own opinion. i only read reviews to see if there's anything game-breaking other than that it's just someone who gets paid to give you there opinion.

I decided to watch IGN's review and honestly it didn't seem like much of a great review, although I haven't read the article.

Decided to watch Machinima's and was much more satisfied as it seemed to actually highlight the main positives and negatives of the game. The review didn't need a score to make me feel even more like I would enjoy this game.

I decided I would buy this game a week ago and I still am buying it.

All of the bad reviews are for the Xbox version, which is pretty much the inferior one anyway.
Well, at least you can play online with that version.
Oh no he di-nt.

I really hope we get an escapist review before friday. The situation with reviews leaves me with few other trustable sources.I've preordered it, and if I don't get it by then, i'll miss out on those tasty bonuses.

Listen to what reviewers say, rather than the score. Hearing things like repetitive gameplay put me off far more than the score at the end.

The idea of only 8 levels really turns me off of this game. I'm sure it would be fun while the levels feel fresh, but they would grow old really fast.
Guess that's what rentals are for though.

IGN is currently 12 percent lower than the metacrtic average which is 72. I thought their 6 was a bit harsh. I was surprised when I saw it at the end of the video review. Even so, 72 is still pretty mediocre for a video game.

Edit: Also, what did IGN do to make so many people hate them? I must have not it. Did they just do a whole bunch of terrible reviews in a row? Did they spend a year favoring one system completely? I want to know.

Where's the "I wasn't going to buy it anyway, because i'm sick of FPS games" option?

From the reviews I have read it seems like this game has a lot of technical issues and fundamental gameplay and design issues. Maybe the technical issues will be fixed later so I might get it in an inevitable steam sale.

Shit no, this game looks like dook. Of course, I had solidified my opinion a long time ago about this game. As soon as the reviews come in I'm quite positive they'll only reinforce my idea that this game is crap.

Yes, I'm still gonna get it this Friday, and probably am gonna enjoy it a whole lot as well. This seems to be a love or hate-sort of thing, and considering I enjoyed the hell out of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (and Brink seems to bring a lot of those elements back to Brink), I believe it'll be worth its money. I don't let the scores affect me that much, I just go by what is actually said in the reviews.

Nothing made the game look interesting to me in the first place. Besides, I never pay attention to reviewers anyway.

I promised my friends I'd get it so that we'd all have a game to play together finally. And I agreed because I thought it looked cool.

IGN's reviews have a negligible impact on my interest in a title. As the second post in this topic, Xzi, put it: "For IGN [it] just means they weren't paid. Terrible place to get opinions on games from."

They gave Modern Warfare 2 a 9 out of ten and Edge gave Bayonetta a 9 out of 10.
I think these people are talking out their arses.
Game looks good. It's different to everything that's trying to beat CoD. Love customisation. Loved Battelfront.

Seriously though if you're so damn bothered, rent the game, play some of it make your own opinion on the matter or roll over and let IGN stomp on your other cheek and refer you to the next 60 bucks worth of 3 hour campaign that activision fart out next time.

Since I'm from Europe myself, I have to wait a few days for it to hit the shelves over here.
But I've heard some views from a few American friends and frankly, they can't shut up about how awesome it is.

Has a few lag issues though, so hoping they will be patched out soon.
In other words, I do trust those guys and I will definitely get it. :)

I've played a bit of it, and it was fun. I really hope they add more maps though, because 8 is just silly.

I don't trust the scores, but I do trust the writing. Just looking over IGN's review, none of their reasoning strikes me as eyebrow-raising issues such as "The game glitches out every 5 minutes, causing everyone to fall through the world" (made-up quote). I could still give it a shot, but I really do need a chance to play it for myself before I make up my mind.

Only thing this game has going it for is the amount of customization and that isn't reason enough for me to pick it up. With such few maps that makes this even more laughable. I'll wait till BF 3 and MW 3 mainly because I like games where I can have an offline, solid single player, I don't wanna play with random jackasses during SP stuff.
