Since I live in Brazil I'm usually plagued by the most abusive prices for games,

Wow, that's even worse than Australia, a country known for its insane game prices. Judging by your story it's cheaper to buy a ticket to the USA and buy the games there than it is buying the games in Brazil.

You're not missing anything. BS2 is basically a big Bioshock custom map. Just uninspired, recycled crap. I bought it used, beat, and returned it, back in the day when i was doing this like every 3 days until the guy yelled at me lol
See, this is what I'm afraid of. That analysis sounds far more harsh than what I expect to expereince, but the disappointment is still there. I've hardly written off the game as I have so many others, but it sounds like something to play on a bored weekend when nothing else sounds good. Though, usually when that happens, playing old classics like Bioshock 1 is the preferable choice.
@glchicks is right. Bioshock 2 doesn't come anywhere near its predecessor. The only thing that is better is the gameplay (e.g. dual wielding weapons and power).

only if there is a game i've been really wanting and i usually preorder it, i've only preordered one game this year that came out this year and it was ACIII,, there are a few games that have piqued my attention scheduled for release next year, but i doubt i'll get them right off the bat

Not so often. There's very little now that gets me excited ahead of release, that makes me want to play it on day 1. I think Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Skyrim were the last ones I bought day 1/full price and that was probably it for the year.

It's not a lack of money, it's a lack of games worth spending it on.

Rarely.
I just don't have the money for it.

Why spend 60USD for a NEW game when I can wait a few months, or for a sale, and get it for 30USD or less?

Most games I buy new are either Atlus or I wanna support a new IP - like KoA:R (yeah, yeah, the company blew up).

i voted for rarely.
the last time i bought a game for full price was wwe smackdown vs raw 2010 and final fantasy 12 for PlayStation 2.
i just cant justify buying games for $50-60 when so many people in my country are dying everyday due to hunger and starvation.
so only when games fall to fraction of their price i buy it

The last game I bought the day of release was Dear Ester. I don't have the time to play games like I did when I was younger, with work, family, and such. I have a long list of games in my Steam folder I have yet to play, or spend a good time with. So when a game ends up coming down in price and when I actually want to play the game is usually when I buy the game. It may be several years after it's release before I get a game.

I won't buy Far Cry 3 till I finish the second game. Otherwise, I'll never finish it.
Well, Far Cry 2 has nothing in common with Far Cry 3. Except that it's an open world shooter. Far Cry 3 is also better than Far Cry 2. So you could skip Far Cry 2 and don't miss out on anything.

Just saying...

First of all my backlog is humongous, I buy more games than I got time for so unless there's a game I just really need to have (like Pokemon or Paper Mario) I wont buy them unless I get a deal I can't refuse. I wanted to pre-order X-Com and I plan on buying it, but there's just too much to play.
I'm having the same issue; a gigantic backlog of games. If I really didn't have any games to play, I might have bought X-com and Dishonored at full price. But now I'll just wait until a nice sale comes along.

Also, all those Steam sales and indie bundle sales really get out of hand. I'm getting games faster than I can complete them.
I started playing Assassin's Creed yesterday and I intend to play the two others with Ezio, I have so many games that even Steam sales aren't enough to make me buy games these days. Steam sales are my curse.

While I know that, if I get FC3 I'll never actually finish the second. And I do kinda want to. I'm just easily distracted.

Very rarely. Usually I'll only buy new if I'm securing a collectors edition. Although I'm grabbing Far Cry 3 because I'm really bored and nothing else is coming out for a few months.

I say rarely but there are definitely times when I say to myself "I would have definitely bought this new on day one". Rayman Origins being one such example. The last games I bought new at full price were my 3 U games (technically 2 since Nintendo Land was less than $50 with the Deluxe bundle...in my brain anyway). The other two being ZombiU (not worth $60) and, Mass Effect 3 Special U Edition (worth full price). The next game I plan on getting on day one is Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 on the U. Because Dynasty Warriors + Fist of the North Star = the closest thing to crack I'll ever, ever do.

I actually do buy most of my games new and at full price but I value things weird. If there's a game I want to take a risk on or don't care about that much I'll get cheap on Steam sale but otherwise I pay the $60 retail. That's probably also because I have less time to devote to gaming and I can only play the games I really want and don't feel like bargain hunting

If I want a game, I have no issue at all with buying at launch price. In fact, I'll often pre-order titles I've confirmed my interest in.

There are certainly many games that fall into my when it gets below $X lists, but that's usually because there's a flaw I see in either quality or value that makes me want the game but not want it that much to begin with. If I really want a game, I buy it usually without too much consideration for price.
