PS3 is backwards compatible with PS1, so it does everything the PS1 does, and more.EightGaugeHippo said:PS1 > PS3 (= PS2 + bluray)
I have no evidence. I just liked it more.

Both PS2 and PS3 are better than the PS1, although PS2 to PS3 is debatable.
I think the thing with the PS1 to PS2 is that the PS2 was a refinement and improvement of the PS1, while the PS3 introduced a lot of new features. We'll likely see the PS4 being better in every way to every previous PS console.GonzoGamer said:I don?t know. I had less problems with the ps2 than I have with the ps3: less freezing and such. But that could simply be because the ps2 did less. But it competently did everything it was intended to do. All the great things they tried to do with the ps3 didn?t amount to crap because they either didn?t work (like the web browser) or were ditched (like alternate OS). Then you have interesting features (like custom soundtrack and video recording) that couldn?t be possible on the ps2 but only works with a handful of games on the ps3.
When comparing the xbox to the 360 you just need to look at the rate of hardware failure.
The games might be getting better but the consoles just don?t seem as consistent and/or dependable this gen.
