PS1 > PS3 (= PS2 + bluray)

I have no evidence. I just liked it more.
PS3 is backwards compatible with PS1, so it does everything the PS1 does, and more.

Both PS2 and PS3 are better than the PS1, although PS2 to PS3 is debatable.

I don?t know. I had less problems with the ps2 than I have with the ps3: less freezing and such. But that could simply be because the ps2 did less. But it competently did everything it was intended to do. All the great things they tried to do with the ps3 didn?t amount to crap because they either didn?t work (like the web browser) or were ditched (like alternate OS). Then you have interesting features (like custom soundtrack and video recording) that couldn?t be possible on the ps2 but only works with a handful of games on the ps3.

When comparing the xbox to the 360 you just need to look at the rate of hardware failure.

The games might be getting better but the consoles just don?t seem as consistent and/or dependable this gen.

I think the thing with the PS1 to PS2 is that the PS2 was a refinement and improvement of the PS1, while the PS3 introduced a lot of new features. We'll likely see the PS4 being better in every way to every previous PS console.

The 360 actually took some steps back, not having a hard drive by default in every system, and not including the most important connectivity options in all consoles.

Nintendo was perpetually experimenting with the N64 and GC, and even the Wii to a degree. Might take until the Wii HD for things to really smooth out for them.

Gamecube better than Wii but still the SNES beats all nintendos and before somebody gives me a hard time cos' I don't prefer the NES I answer: never played the NES. I preffer the xbox beacose I've had it for 6 years and it still works perfect and never let me down and I've only had my 260 for mabey 6 months mabey more mabey less. I dunno and than it comes to the PS PS1 only broke and freezed all the time PS2 was horrible if asking me but I think the PS3 look really great

I suppose how you define 'better'. I'm sure when you look at the numbers, every console beats its predecessor. But if you define 'better' as 'fun', then everybody has their own opinions on which is their favourite console. Also, I don't think it's fair to compare the Wii with the Gamecube because they're totally different experiences.
