Presumably the Escapist does not choose where to spend its money by tossing darts at a list of names.
Giving random internet people a say in things they don't have much detail or interest in seems like a questionable decision.
Yeah. I think I've said
somewhere before about story lines etc. in games; if the developers listen solely to what the fans want, in short, they'll probably be mostly left with a load of crap, to put it as lightly as possible, lol. Same goes here.
EDIT: However, there's nothing wrong with listening to and even considering
suggestions made by their target audience because, at the end of the day, we
are the target audience but as I've said previously and just as thaluikhain has stated, they can't just go for it.

If you are going to do that, what would be more effective is to make all the shows pay per view and make them extremely cheap like 10 to 25 cents per view. That way the people who make content get paid, the site generates revenue from advertisements to keep the site afloat and it rewards good content over bad content, all without all the extra fuss.
Now, with that said. I AM NOT ENDORSING THAT IDEA I am simply presenting what would likely be a more productive and effective alternative than what was presented by the OP.
Oh, God good because that would just annoy me. LOL. I prefer having to sit through repeated ads because all that will just add up in no time at all!
