I just learnt how to use the toaster...So no?
Noone is as bad as my sister at cooking. She burnt cereal... Seriously
actually me and my twin sister have both done that on seperate occasions...We like Warm cereal..Sue us why dont'cha?!.

This continued until my mother demanded we just warm the milk, but dammit! its not the same!
Haha, that's exactly what my sister is. She put it on the stove and just forgot about it..
Her terrible cooking is all down to her forgetfulness.
Ours is down to its just a really bad idea to put cereal bowls in a stove, were both banned from touching it, im not even allowed to look at it unless it burts into flames.

I never, ever want to be able to cook spaghetti bolognese. I utterly despise the stuff.

I'm pretty good at it. Most of my old jobs involved food in some way, so that just helped me out a bit too.

Anything with meat. Quite a few other dishes. I do some amazing BBQ.

In short I am an excellent cook.

My sister burnt water.

Well okay she left the pan on the stove for a couple of days and long after the water all boiled out the pan actually started to melt and sink onto the burner. I had to toss the burner with the pan, couldn't get them apart.
Wow.. That takes skill.
My sister accidentally superheated water in the microwave... I guess she didn't think twice about putting a pyrex measuring cup of water in for TEN MINUTES.

Thank God she didn't try to take it out... I did. I told her that microwaving water wasn't a good idea (I didn't know how long), and tried to remove it with a pair of tongs.

The resulting explosive geyser burned my hand.

Basic food, if you came to mine for a meal, expect cheese on toast.
I can live off food like that, so it's okay. I'll be moving out soon so I better learn how to cook.

Cookings relatively easy.. As long as you don't forget about what you're cooking.. And what's wrong with cheese on toast? Sounds like a feast right now.

That's where I always go wrong, I put stuff in the oven and forget about if for 2 hours. Putting stuff in the pan is worse, scraping scrambled eggs from a pan is not fun...
I had to ask my friend how to make cheese on toast, because when I tried I put the cheese on one side till it melted, then turned it over to toast the other the other side and it dripped through the grill...

I'm an excellent cook.

To the people who doubt their skills: the best way to get better? Keep cooking. Keep trying things out.

I used to not be able to fry an egg properly. Now I can throw together a Thanksgiving dinner that gets raved about.

IMO there is a bit of a discrepancy between "like a master" and "basic food".
I wouldn't call myself a master cook. I can't make a gourmet meal you would get at a 5 star restaurant, but at the same time I'm well above the level where I just boil spaghetti and dump pre-made spaghetti sauce in it (not that I still don't do that from time to time).

IMO most people can cook. You can find some pretty awesome recipes online that aren't that difficult but taste great. Fancy desserts are difficult though, as they can require a lot of time (separating egg whites is a real pain).

Cooking is fun and and the best part is when you do a good job you get an awesome meal. I'm surprised people don't like it.

I can cook pretty well. Anytime someone walks into the house/kitchen after I'm done, they always comment that something smells tasty.

I'm actually, a much better baker than I am a cook. I can do cakes, pastries, cookies, pretzels, bread... Hell, I can even make a classic buttercream frosting from scratch... It was delicious.

I'm a good cook, my lasagne kicks ass. I like baking too, I do birthday cakes for friends and family, I seem to be naturally in charge of my kitchen.
I'm afraid I'm slightly impatient with those who claim they can't, follow a recipe and you'll soon catch on :D
That said, I stop my mother from cooking. She REALLY can't.
