Okay, I break it down for you.Random berk said:Except that the Baneblade does not actually exist. Of course I 'whipped out 40 K tech' because the Baneblade itself is 40 K tech. I'd have also talked about more conventional, real life weapons if we were talking about a conventional, real life tank.Chrinik said:I talked about the picture, anyway, inwhich the Baneblade could house an entire platoon.Random berk said:The size of vehicle models relative to soldier models in 40 K is really bad, actually. A fire warrior would never fit into a Tau battlesuit, even without his armour, and a space marine wouldn't fit in the dreadnought coffin, even if he had his arms and legs cut off.Chrinik said:Most modern tanks can eat RPG-7s like candy...well, the crappy soviet and chinese Warheads the Taliban fire at least.Random berk said:Except an RPG-7. Or an anti tank mine. Or an A-10 Warthog. Which is of course what I would use.Evilsanta said:This. It the tanks of tanks.
Nothing beats a tank.
And we are talking about a Baneblade here, that thing is bigger then a house (see size comparisson with the 8 foot Spacemarines)...so what´s an A-10 gonna do, tickle it?
Strategic bombers like the B2 however...
Yeah, real anti tank weapons probably wouldn't work against something like a baneblade, but thats why the 40 K universe has battleships with orbital cannons. I'm pretty sure a bombardment by one of those would take it out.
And I was also talking about taking on a Baneblade with conventional, "today" weaponry, and you whip out 40K tech.
Talk about missing the point.
"Yeah, you could totally take out a french knight on his horse storming towards you, just need your trusty .50 cal and he will go down..."
Some dude posted a picture of a Baneblade.
Some other dude went "it is the tank of tanks!"
Some different dude answered that with "tanks are no match for (add conventional anti-tank weapon here)."
The other dude went: "Well, that works for real tanks, but this is the Baneblade we are talking about.
Then I come in and say that most conventional weapons would fail on it, exept maybe a B2 (because it is big, and therefore a good target for aerial bombardment, don´t you think? Would have doomed the P1000 Landkreuzer too, a planned, real life Baneblade equivalent, which would have NEVER been build, but was planned, in real life.), so what was he thinking...
Then YOU come in and say "conventional weapons don´t work on fictional tanks" and drop fucking 40k Orbital Cannons instead and talk about how the size doesn´t match up...well you wanna have 2mm talk figures or 30cm tall Baneblade models?...you missed the point entirely, and now you try to wind yourself out of it. The entire conversation was about the Baneblade, and MY post, which you quoted, actually based on some dude trying to counter a baneblade with conventional weapons.
Instead of jumping in or leaving the conversation out all together, you decided to quote MY POST and whip out 40k tech vs. 40k tech, when the point was "real tech vs. 40k tech, what would work against a fucking BANEBLADE."
Hell, there are probably hundreds of units that can make short work of a Baneblade in the 40k universe, so WHY BOTHER...
(Which Is what the last paragraph was about to mean, which you didn´t get either.)
Since the 40k Universe is so advanced and over the top, me and my buddies (who are 40k vets, I specialize in the real department) think about how to counter certain 40k Tech with real life tech, and wound up that a single space marine in standart Powerarmor has about the combat effectiveness of an M2 Bradley, and at a certain point (Titans), nothing but tactical nukes would work anymore, but it is still fun XD
