I most certainly can. I wouldn't be Dutch if I couldn't! I can even ride one without using my hands. I like mountain biking too, charging downhill at reckless speed is just delightful!
don't impress the natives here with our superior no hand steering skills (still remember when it was cool to do :p)

what i did notice however is that you must be a total nut to ride a bike in london because they just want to kill you or something

Besides being cool, it's also very useful when it's cold, and you don't have any gloves. I spent 90% of my time on the bike with my hands in the pocket of my jacket when it was cold outside. Besides that, you sit up straight too which is good for your back I reckon. And it gives you a better overview of the surroundings for being higher, and you were more visible.

And I wouldn't like to ride my bike in a foreign city, except maybe New York. They have them crazy delivery guys there, sort off like the runners in Mirror's Edge, but then more dangerous it seems.

Is it strange that I can ride a motorbike but not a bicycle, I always fall off bicycles I have no idea why.

Of course I can ride a bike, I just attach it to the SELECT button and it's as easy as pressing a few D-Pad buttons - wait, you meant in real life?

Haha. True. All you have to do is start a new game of GTA: San Andreas and then press Triangle after the first cut scene. Easy.

I'm going to a bike shop to fix up my bike today since I haven't used it in quite a few years, so I'll found out if I can still ride it sometime in the next week.

But I probably can...

Not being able to ride a bike in the Netherlands is considered taboo.

Allweather cyclist.
Except when it is too cold and slippery to drive safely.
It's not fun to drive just 1km and fall 2-3 times because it's so slick you can't even use the brakes for a second.
I probably drive around 50km a week on my bike. Sometimes in the summer 50km a day for recreation.
Had my bike stolen last year, got a new one from insurance.

Also, no hands!

(yes, count me one of the overly present Dutch people in this thread. :p)

I can and have been able to since I was about 4-5, but I rarely ride my bike anymore.

And living where I do trying to ride on the roads is almost suicidal so its easier and safer to walk.
