Officially: New York, as that's the bussiness center/crown jewel for the last superpower.
Frankly, I can't see how the States is the last superpower at all. With an conomy driven almost entirely on consumption and a little bit of offshoring, they hardly have a large grip over the global economy. Besides their obvious military assets (which other countries can match considering their cooperation) they reall arent a superpower. Don't get me wrong, I'd like it to be New York as well and I'm not even american, but it would probably be because of the UN.

A simple question - if all the nations of Earth united under one world government, which city would be the capital of the planet, and why?

I've outlined a few of the world's major cities in the poll already, but do feel free to choose "other" if you feel none of the options fit, and explain your choice.

Keep in mind that the city must be on Earth - we're assuming a united planet, but not that we've begun establishing colonies elsewhere in the solar system/galaxy.
Paris, it has to be because Star Trek said so.

Well as the world's biggest super power - arguably - is the USA, would it not make sense for it to be Washington DC? I was amazed that that wasn't an option in the poll. I think it should be the moon. Just to confuse people.
