Two equally, Iron Man and Captain America. They're each very different movies. Iron Man is a man's personal growth, while Captain America is about being an idealistic, larger than life hero. Iron Man made HIMSELF a hero, while Captain America was given his power by another...but strives to live up to that trust. The dichotomy between the two will be fun in the Avengers. :) Though I like the others too, those two stick out as the best two of the movies. Iron Man 2 is solid, but Iron Man 1 and Captain America are the strongest offerings so far, to my mind. Each cemented a character back into the public consciousness much more strongly, and brought them to life.

The Iron Man movies were alright but the Captain America movie was a TON of freaking fun. I've never seen a movie based (loosely) around WW2 that I actually enjoyed (I have a lot of catching up to do). Thor was an excellent film as well but Captain America one for me. As for the Super Hero whom I prefer, that one goes to Thor (of those four) with Deadpool winning out over the entire Marvel cast (as far as I know them anyway)

My favorite Marvel Comics film of all time though is still (turns up flame shield) The Punisher: Warzone. I hope he gets a new movie soon, mainly so he can be a part of the Avengers films (there will be multiple).

Iron Man is just a guy in a (totally bitchin') suit, Captain America is a guy on super-hero steroids, Hulk is a whinny ***** that *nobody* like ('cause, lets face it, why should you?)
Thor, on the other hand, is the actual Norse god of thunder... He seems a tad out of place, but definately top-drawer for super powers.
The downside is, they're all jerks. The only decent (if stupid) guy is the good ol' Cap'n.
I vote Thor / Captain America.

Robert Downey Jr. really nailed Tony Stark's character in Iron Man and Iron Man 2, but I liked Captain America too.

Just out of curiosity... Do you have the same objection to Nick Fury being played by Sam Jackson? Would you rather David Hasselhoff reprise the roll? At least you'd know it'd be a hit in Germany...
Bad example.
One version of Nick Fury was indeed based on Jackson...

...while on the other hand there's no account of any Nordic God being different than your typical Asgardian white ubermensch. I'd understand and accept Loki the Trickster being portrayed by practically anybody, be it white, yellow, black or pale green with shiny, sparkling freckles. Heimdall ? Nope. Big Nope.

But that's me.

Because we didn't get enough of this 9 months ago.

True if Thor was an accurate depiction of Norse mythology, but it's not, they're space aliens that inspired mythology.

That's my point; It's the Ultimate version... For Marvel's Ultimate universe, which is where the movies take place.

If Ultimate Fury can be black without you batting an eye, why does Ultimate Heimdall draw your ire?

I never got why Hulk is even in the avengers. I've only seen the 2 animated movies, but he spends more time fighting the other 3 avengers than anyone else, and anything else he appears in is just 'Hulks gone crazy and Fury asks Wolverine/Iron Man to stop him'. Hes the most useless hero ever.

To me, Thor was the biggest surprise out of the four movies. It was a serious (-ly ludicrous) story mixed in with a comedy...and it worked. I can't say that the other movies surprised me as much as Thor did.

Hmmm... Probably Cap, that movie was the only one that I really thought was exactly right. I do like all the new Marvel films, but Hulk's ending fight was awful (and Liv Tyler was shit), Thor needed more Thor and Iron Man 2 is a bit awkwardly paced (and the villians from both films weren't really threatening enough). I think Captian America felt just right, as a ridiculously over-the-top WW2 movie. Loved it (and Hugo Weaving is awesome).
The way Bucky "dies" is pretty off, but the rest, I don't think was too far off base.

That's because they're looking at the performance and not the colour of his skin.
Agreed, weirdsoup, I thought we were over this "ZOMG Heimdall isn't black!". Also Thor's a redhead. Also Nick Fury is black now too, you don't see fans going off on one about that.

OT: Probably Iron Man, I quite like that he doesn't bother with a secret identity. Just because he knows he's badass enough to take down villains anyway. Plus a Tony Stark party would be AWESOME!
I'm with Weirdsoup and Rusman on this one about Hiemdall. Far as I've seen though, Thor has always been blonde, like a real golden blonde. And in the Ultimates comics from Marvel, Fury looks EXACTLY how Samuel L. Jackson does. I think with the Marvel movies, especially involving the Avengers, they are using a lot more from the Ultimates universe as opposed to Earth 616 ("Our" reality the main Marvel universe is apparently from.) Hence why some things tend to be slightly different in some areas, I.E. Samuel L. Jackson = Nick Fury.

O.T: I loved the first Iron Man, and Captain America was very well done I think. Honestly I can't pick between the 2. Thor, as someone said, didn't have enough Thor in it. I guess that's what felt missing to me. He should have been kicking a lot more ass. The more recent Hulk was considerably better than the first, the end, as someone else said, was a bit bogus. I also don't like Ed Norton much, especially as Banner. He was marginally better than Bana (I can't stand him, I think he's such an awful actor.) But they seem to have a hard time finding someone to play Banner. I don't think Ruffalo is going to be any better either, but we'll see.

Screw you guys, I'm voting for Spider-Man.
Well, the first 2 movies were great and all, but there is a flaw in this. Spider-Man only in recent years became an Avenger. The Avengers movie is leaning more toward the original Avengers that came about in the 60's. Now if they went with the Avengers starting in the 2000s, then yeah, that works out fine. Just saying. I would eventually like to see a more modern Avengers cast in a movie as well though.

Actually the films take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which draws elements from the regular universe (616) and Ultimates, but also creates it's new stuff, like Heimdall being black which I'm totes okay with.

Actually our reality is Earth-0000 or prime like DC. Where nothing happens. Though god looks like Jack Kirby.

As I said the movies are in a universe seperate to both 616 and 1610 (Ultimates). It's designated 199999. Draws elements from both universe and creates some new stuff. Which does justify why a minor change like Heimdall's skin colour (classically white in both 616 and the rare ultimate depiction) could have changed.

Huh, I was always under the impression that 616 was "our" reality. Oh well, rest of my point still stands.

I'll answer both of you at once :
Kind sirs, could you direct me to any comic book not based on the movie depicting Heimdall as black ? I'll apologise immediately afterwards. Also i'll change my avatar to black Heimdall for a month or so.

But yeah, I actually like the Heimdall from the movie, the actor played it quite good.
No. He is wonderful ! There are moments when i thought that he could be better protagonist than Thor. :)
Also : Luther and Prometheus. YAY !

Still. Heimdall. Black. Nope.

Honestly I think Thor was my favorite of the Marvel reboots, closely followed by Iron Man. Thor mainly wins because Loki might be one of my favorite villains, and his actor played him in a way that warmed my Shakespeare acting heart.

And at the risk of triggering a war, I honestly didn't see what the problem with black Heimdall was, though in fairness I haven't read much of the Thor comics. Taking the movie on its own it works just fine.

Captain America just...it's almost hard to put my finger on it but I couldn't stand the movie. Hugo Weaving was fine as Red Skull, and the Captain himself was...fine I guess, but Captain America's never been a superhero I found interesting or fun to read or watch. I guess on the actual film I disliked that they actually threw in a sincere montage of the Captain and his never defined outside of their funny hats gang wiping out the super evil Nazis.

Still, I'd rank all of these higher than Green Lantern.

I vote for Ironman for one reason, Best comic character that made it on the wide screen.
What i mean is, it might not be the best movies, but the role of Tony Stark is 100% the same in the comic as in the movie!
This is not true in ANY other comic made to film character.
Hat off to Robert Downey JR, Prisontime seemed to work in his case, ever since release he have been brilliant!
