Being the music junkie that I am, Dio's death affected me in a sorrowful way, but all the other celebrities who I don't know about (Coleman) I don't really care about them.

I don't care about their deaths, their lawsuits, their love lives, their pregnancies, I'm only interested in them when they do or say something incredibly stupid.

I don't get sad, but I'm never happy when someone dies unless they are terrible people.

I was seriously upset when Dio died. It was a fucking Ronnie and The Prophets marathon in my house that day.

I came up with 10 jokes on the matter. Wanna hear them? ok-

10. He just couldn't live without Dio

9. I guess they'll have to wait for Emauel Lewis to die so they can put them in a normal size coffin together.

8. I think Jeff Dunham might have himself a new puppet.

7. They should put him on a jet ski and give him a viking funeral.

6. Now he's beating up women... in heaven

5. Oh no! Now whose going to keep the skaters away from the cinabun.

4. . "What! they ain't got no cable up here! What you talkin' bout Jesus?"

3. I always heard celebrities die in 3's, not 2.5's.

2. You must be this tall to enter heaven

1. Looks like Micheal Jackson's deal with satan finally came through.

Yeah, it is sad when people die, I'm not really sad unless I was close to the person, and everyone dies... so meh...

If I like them or they mattered I might care, but it shouldnt be treated like a national tragedy.

Plus some good jokes happen, even if unintentionally. I saw a Billy Mays infomercial once where it opened with "Im Back" after he died.

I'm not too sad when a celebrity dies. I'm not happy, because it is a human who is dead, but I'm not sad.

I don't act crazy toward people who grieve either. If they're sad, what right do I have to make their day worse by saying "You're a pussy for crying for a man/woman you've never met." That's just not nice.

It really depends on the celebrity.
the only celebrity death that I have been mildly sad about was Heath Ledger.
And I think the only other celebrities that I wound feel sad about the deaths of would be Sean Connery, Christopher Lee, Michael Crawford and Hugh Jackman.

Only those who entertained or inspired me, like Ronnie James Dio. But people like Gary Coleman, bah, I don't care.
Same here, mate.

I never enjoy the death of famous people who actually gave something to my life, inspiration, entertainment, or otherwise.

Celebrities create something that people enjoy, and when they die, they are sad because someone whom they have connected with died. When Paul Grey (Slipknots bassist) died I was a little upset because 5 years ago they were a pretty big part of my life. When Michael Jackson died it was a big deal because he was (apart from an amazing singer and performer) a big part of a lot of peoples lives.

I'm sure if a game dev or author passed away there would be a thread about it here.
Couldn't have been said any better.

I give no care about ANY celebrity. They are no better or more important than any of my friends or family or random person on the face of this planet.

Does it matter if media floods us with information on someone's death, no.
Does it matter that we shouldn't be insensitive about it? Yes.

Death is a part of life and it's something we can't just ignore. We mourn and move on for whoever we care about. If what they did didn't matter to you personally, then that's your perogative but it's not something you should convince others to have. Their concern regarding anyone's death is their opinion.

I don't feel "I gotta cry" sad when a celebrity dies. At most, I think, "Damn, I can't believe they died. They were such a good (insert what they were famous for)"
