Okay, I moved from California to Florida for my significant other (like someone else in this very thread did), but I'm going to advise that you stay in Sweden. For one thing, moving within a country, even if it is almost 2,000 miles away, is not even comparable to moving to a different country. For another, I work online so I can keep my job no matter where I live. And finally, all my friends are internet friends, so nothing was lost there.
I'd say keep in touch with Mr. France, but you should both be very clear that you're not in a relationship and that it's okay to see other people if you want. Then, a year or two down the line, see how you feel and if you still want to move to France to be with him. Or maybe he'll want to move to Sweden.
It might be very difficult to keep things friendly, though.
