I would say to those who say 'well it prevents problems', well, why not have your toes cut off too? After all, you don't really need them to stand, especially if you have it done young enough to adapt to the change. As a result, no infections or fungus between the toes, and you can buy smaller shoes! Joking, of course, but you can see why us in Europe find your country mad in this regard.
Um, I'm pretty sure you need your toes, don't you? I always thought they helped maintain balance for the body, or at least when you need to traverse thin cliff-walks and try to defy death so you don't fall down. Especially when you're running, since they grab into the ground to push you forward. Besides, my pinky toe is so adorable!
Well, try walking with you toes lifted off of the ground - I did and it seems to be fine. Alittle off because I had muscles tensed wierdly to lift the toes, but still!
Nah, I think you need your toes :p Besides, you still need them for running, they dig into the ground to generate friction so you can pull yourself forward.
Bah, I say, bah! ;)
A better analogy would be cutting off the ear lobes, they don't serve any real use (though aid with warmth/balance is debatable), and hey, cut it off and be free of ear lobe infections forever! :p
Coincidentally, when babys get circumcized, the feeling is about as painful as getting your ears peirced. So basically, it's about as sensitive as your earlobe is right now. What a twist!...?

I sure am glad my parents didn't slice up my penis to please a magical space man.
Hehe this made my day, but yeah that's pretty much what I'm glad for too. I don't see why its done so much in America asit just seems to be another cruel thing to do to babies, like dunking them in icy water to "christen them".

to be disgustingly honest i don't know what part of a female might be... removed during circumcision. Unless every female i've yet seen has been circumcised and, to be inappropriate about it, I didn't know what I was missing
To my knowledge, female circumcision has the removing of the entire clitoris, the removal of the labia, or sewing shut the opening almost entirly.

That is, if wikipedia is to be believed, I don't know too much on the subject myself.

It is not really called Female Circumcision anymore. It's now called Female Genital Mutilation, and for good reason.

Toes are used in balance, they are also there to secure your footing. plus they look cute.

The only medical reason to be circumcised was to reduce the chance of bacteria growing inside the foreskin, which is easily avoid by cleaning it in the shower, which most guys do anyway, so the only reason nowadays is religious, and they're not real good reasons to mutilate a child's genital organs.
and again, I will list the found medical benefits of circumcision:
Medical:
Numerous studies indicate that circumcision decreases the incidence of childhood urinary tract infections (Kinkade et al. 2005) and adult penile cancer (Kinkade et al., 2005; Loughlin, 2005).
There is also strong evidence that circumcision provides increased protection against HIV, the virus that causes AIDS(Auvert et al., 2005; Baeten et al., 2005 Reynolds et al., 2004).
Evidence also suggests that circumcision reduced the risk of genital warts infection but may provide no protection against other STD's, including genital herpes, gonorrhea, and syphillis (MacLean, 2005; Reynolds et al., 2004)
-taken from the text "Our sexuality" by Crooks and Baur [10th edition]

It is NOT just "reducing the chance of bacteria".

Edit: ALSO, Stop calling it mutilation for crying out loud. More than half of those who say they are circumcised don't even remember the procedure. Seeing as it is done not long after your born. It's a medical procedure in a controlled and clean environment.
Quote:
"There is a spectrum of views within the British Medical Association's (BMA) membership about whether non-therapeutic male circumcision is a beneficial, neutral or harmful procedure or whether it is superfluous, and whether it should ever be done on a child who is not capable of deciding for himself. Moreover, the Association states that ?there is significant disagreement about whether circumcision is overall a beneficial, neutral or harmful procedure. At present, the medical literature on the health, including sexual health, implications of circumcision is contradictory, and often subject to claims of bias in research.? As a general rule, the BMA believe that "parents should be entitled to make choices about how best to promote their children?s interests, and it is for society to decide what limits should be imposed on parental choices." They also state that "both parents...must give consent for non-therapeutic circumcision", and that parents and children should be provided with up-to-date written information about the risks involved."

Quoting a few papers does not mean they have been conformed, accepted, or otherwise approved as sound medical advice.

On use of the word "mutilation" - "to injure, disfigure, or make imperfect by removing or irreparably damaging parts" (source) [http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/mutilation]

Disfigure by removing seems to fit.

They use them in (and here is the kicker) beauty products! Guess I have a reason to laugh at people who apply make-up now.
That has to be an urban myth....has to be...although if it's not...just think, if you're circumcised some model could be rubbing a bit of your cock all over her face as we speak :p
They also use the cells to grow more skin to use as skin graphs for burn victims and others with similar wounds/diseases. The faster they get the foreskin the more skin they can produce from it, a "fresh" foreskin can produce something like 3 football fields worth of skin.

There is not a SINGLE good reason to mutilate myself so no... I'm not.

Also nobody should be allowed to cut a piece of anybody else (even their kids) without their consent... If the kid grows up and decides "hey, I want my foreskin chopped off!", fine, call the doctor (Don't try the DIY way... Trust me here...) have at it... But never before the person has the right to decide for themselves.
