Why not? I mean, besides the religious opposition of "Playing God" do we really have a reason not to clone people?

Cloning whole people is a bad idea, not the actual process and end result, but the way society would react to such a feat would be messy. We already have enough social issues in the world right now and don't need another one. I do think cloning organs or body part is a good idea though, it would save alot of lives and cut down on the donor-recipient list.

the number of dumb-fucks in this world are already to high for my liking, we should start clone the spiecies that are going extinct due to humanities inability to contain their activities

What can we do with clones? Besides feeding some people's egos. They'll end up killing you anyway because they think they're the original. If they don't have super full consciousness, does that make them second-class?

Sure let's clone people. Personally I'm all for a Attack of the Clones type thing. Cloned soldiers. Better then robots anyday, yet since they are a mear copy, no dreadful loss when they die

Because of genetic degredation. You cannot be bringing people into the world knowing they are going to die horribly and early from diseases they should not be getting until they're 90.

That would be like giving every baby in a maternity ward Downs Syndrome on a timer that activates when they're 25. Imagine the scale of the lawsuits from people who are going to die young and know it's all your fault, that you knew about it before you made them and that you did it anyway.

Nevermind the social and mental aspects of a person growing up who neither gets to be a full person nor to live a full life. Plus issues of custody of the child, who's the parent? The person copied or the scientist making the copy? What if people are cloned unwillingly? There's going to be a kid running around who is not wanted by the only thing the roughly equates to a parent. Does a clone even count as an individual?

Clones should only exist to end that annoying nature vs nurture debate, other than that they are just people with the same genetic code as other people. When an army of suplexes descends upon you and leaves your cities in ruin don't say I didn't warn you.

Don't play God.

Please.

And I say this not only from a religious perspective, but who the hell is good enough to play god on earth anyway? And what the hell would you use them for anyway? You just bring someone in the world to live in this disgusting place and die a horrible death.

I'd say do it, but I like being original with my clone army.
People already think I stole it from Star Wars, so if everyone else makes a clone army, I'm going to be irritated.
Plus, the noise made from millions of cloned assholes would be atrocious.

The world can't even handle ONE of me, why the hell would you make another?

Here's the real reason why human cloning is illegal though. If cloning were legal, Chuck Norris could be cloned, then it would be possible for a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick to meet a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick. Scientists theorize that this contact would end the universe.

Very negative view you have of the world, keep it up!
But that aside as a flippant remark, playing god is a phrase bandied about too often these days. Clone a sheep? Playing god. Harvest organs? Playing god! Eating undeveloped babies? Playing god!
Seriously, not even god was good enough to play god.

You better make sure that your clones know that they're clones. They'll kill you for being an inferior copy sooner or later. And make sure they don't get any funny ideas because they don't like being clones. I'm starting to sound like a dictator, aren't I?

I say we do it... But we do it carefully and keep it under control, not to isolate any part of it from the eyes of the people.

Also I reckon we should only clone to bring back the dead... It would be pretty pricey though.

Personally, I would love to clone myself and have a million Kims.

Then I could finally have my own army!! Muahahaha!
