I don't support the boycott, but I do believe that this decision is a slap in the face to PC gamers everywhere.

This is exactly why I am against PC games getting simultaneous releases on consoles: They get dumbed down. We saw it with Oblivion, and now we're seeing it in a much larger, much worse, much more obvious way with MW2. If you want to release your game on consoles as well as the PC, put the PC version out first and then dumb down the port.

I'm kinda neutral to it. There are negatives and positives about the whole thing.

Server browsers do have advantages such which we're all aware of, but there are disadvantages.

The main disadvantage is server admins. They have full ability to pull stupid stunts such as banning weapons on their servers (such as the idiots who get rid of the AWP and auto sniper on CSS... apparently they're "nooby", that's why they're the most expensive weapons asstards!!), kicking people just to be dicks, adding stupid mods to the servers such as quake sounds, and if the host's server is poorly hosted connection wise, then there's another problem.

To be honest I couldn't care less. I think it would have been nice to keep the server browser and add matchmaking as well, I really don't see the logic in removing the server browser if people host their own games, but hey... nothing we can do about it. Anyone who seriously thinks a boycott will work is stupid.

I won't be buying the game, pure and simple. I don't like supporting greedy companies like Activision who feel like they can shit all over their consumers.

I'll be getting this on a console but I do understand how the PC gamers feel since they've basically taken away some of the main advantages of PC gaming from the game.

Was going to be buying it for the PC but now I'm going to be renting it for my PS3 to play the singe player on that. To me the lack of dedicated servers is a big deal.

I would prefer to launch Ragnarok to having to watch CoD games be pumped out.
after all, the best realistic modern FPS made so far is Battlefield 2

I'm getting it for my xbox but Im a pc gamer at heart and I spent the last 2 days defending the boycott from console fanboys who think just because THEY would buy it anyway means the boycotters will too.

Jesus Christ, I'm sick of these damn boycotts. What is this, the fifth one this quarter? Everyone thinks they'll get the same press as L4D2 Boycotters.

This is a problem that occurs with most franchises that get ridiculously popular. After a while, they stop caring about what the community wants because they're still guaranteed more money than any of us can ever imagine with release day sales alone. Christ, we're talking about a game that has caused numerous publishers to push their release dates back by sixth months just to avoid releasing at the same time as it!

I voted Other, for "Suck it up, Princess!"

To be honest, I'm over online multiplayer, simply for the fact that I can't stomach the maturity level of the majority of players online.

That's not to say that everyone is a 13yo boy screaming obscenities through their headset...
(There are quite a few 14 yo boys, doing that, too).

I'll be getting Modern Warfare 2 for the single player.

I cannot support Infinity Ward nor the boycott, Infinity Ward are such assholes and the boycotters are all idiotic 12-year olds. I'm not going to be buying the game, but at least you don't see me holding hands in a circle and crying about it.

If they made a single-player only version for cheaper I would buy it. But of course that's never happening.

I'll be getting Left 4 Dead 2 instead. I'm not gonna actively protest or whine over the internet, but if anyone asks, Bobby Kotick can fuck a circular saw.

As a fan of CoD since the first one I also believe this to be a very bad thing. Modding and all that is one of the best things about the CoD games. You buy the game, you enjoy single player mode once (or multiple times) then you have multilayer which is also being modded and therefore stays fun. IW are shaming themselves and just pissing off a big chunk of their customers.

I'm not buying it simply 'cause I don't like the trend of every new release game being more expensive lately without any explanaton so I guess technically I'm boycotting MW2 as well as AC2... and pretty much every other Activision game I guess. If Bob Kotick is really worried about a weakening world economy and the impact it has on his company I'm sure he could relinquish some of the $15 million he gets every year.

This as well - this dedicated server/IW.NET thing - I mean what are we paying for? A good albeit samey shooter that we have pretty much played about five times before. I'm not sure about this server change thing, maybe it's a good thing and people are getting their panties in a twist over nothing. Time will tell. To be honest though I don't trust Infinity Ward or Activision very much at the moment and I feel that any changes they make is more for them than it is for us. I mean one of the main isues that CoD:WaW faced was that MW1 Multiplayer was still popular so people didn't feel like forking out money for a new title. For Activision, lastability is the enemy.

I have to say I don't like the gaming community, (particularly PC gaing community,) shouting "boycott" everytime they read something they don't like especially when they fold a week or a month later. If you're going to seriously not buy a game, even a game that you want to play then good, well done, cry "boycott" all you like. If you're part of the knee-jerk reaction crowd who cry "boycott" over the drop of a hat then please please just shut the fuck up.

I would support the boycott with all their dicking around of fans, but I kinda hold some stock in the company and it would be a bit of a backwards step for me.
