I'm not buying it simply 'cause I don't like the trend of every new release game being more expensive lately without any explanaton so I guess technically I'm boycotting MW2 as well as AC2... and pretty much every other Activision game I guess. If Bob Kotick is really worried about a weakening world economy and the impact it has on his company I'm sure he could relinquish some of the $15 million he gets every year.

Why AC2? That's being made by Ubisoft.

On topic: I was thinking about buying this game, but that has quickly changed when the news broke. Dedicated servers are... kind of a big deal. Mods have been a huge part of CoD ever since the first one. And dedicated servers have been the big reason that PC games can typically support more players in a game than their console versions. That being said, the game is not out yet, so I reserve the right to change my mind if: IWNet is somehow some crazy online utopia, or Infinity Ward changes their stance on this.

I certainly don't begrudge you your opinion, but why are you so angry because people who aren't happy with the direction the company is taking the pc gaming experience don't want to buy the game? It's not like the OP is saying,"Even if you like the game, don't buy it!". He just wants those who are also unhappy to voice their objections in the form of not giving Activision their money.

It isn't that I don't think they should buy it if they don't want to. That is great. Don't buy it. Voice your dissatisfaction with it. It is how they are going about it that bothers me. Like Activision owes them something. That having dedicated servers is a right not a priviledge. It just reeks of arrogance. And that arrogance is going to be the death of "hardcore" gaming. Unless the "hardcore" gamers start buying 100 copies each they need to appeal to a broader market. They need to bring "casuals" into the fold and teach them the ropes. To make games like MW2 more attractive to them. Otherwise the next gen could be ruled by Wiis and Popcap.
