I have preordered the collectors edition of New Vegas, AC:Brotherhood, Black ops, and some others. I usually chose the collectors edition when there is one, if it's a game I really want.

So what do you do? Do you like the Collectors edition or are you satisfied with the normal?

And for extra discussion, what do you like best in a collectors edition?
I like extra in-game content.

these days I go for vanilla version and no DLC, simply because special editions and DLC are purely there to rip you off.
I might get an all in one version later down the line of its on offer or something but otherwise just vanilla.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I usualy go for the collectors, unless its just got stuff I dont care about, for me to be happy with a collectors then I need an art book, some doodads, maybe a sound track cd or at least a making of disk

Depends on the game and whether I actually have some extra monies on it's arrival.

It depends on the game.

For example I bought the Legendary collectors edition of Halo: Reach because I really love the game and the bonus stuff included.(both real and digital) Then there are games where I'm not as in love with it and will only buy the regular version.

Also money is also a huge factor. If I had the money then I would go for the collector editions.

I generally get Standard, but for games I'm very excited about or already a fan of (prequels etc.) I get Collector's, if I have the cash. For instance, I'll be buying the Collector's edition of Fable 3.

Depends on the game, I get the collectors edition for Mass Effect and Halo, but not much else...

Normal every time.
However... I have pre-ordered a Special Edition, for the first time ever.
I pick this little beauty up tomorrow.
Care to guess what game I'm talking about?
I just had to, the makers deserve every penny.

I dont go for collectors when pre ordering, usually because they wont fit through my post box when being delivered, and I cant be bothered to wait in to collect it

Fallout: New Vegas?

If so I'm in the exact same position.

If there's something sweet the Colletctors edition. It broke my hear when I noticed that there wasn't Mafia 2 Collectors edition available in Finland in flesh just some Steam version... Not that Steam was a bad thing or anything.

The only collector's edition I've ever owned was Oblivion, and that's just because the store I bought it at had it marked as the same price as the standard edition. Hooray for human error!

I almost always go for normal. Unless it's like a year later and they've released some special edition with all the DLC or something.

Though I guess that's not technically a "collectors edition"

For me it depends heavily on wich game it is and what the collectors edition[CE] includes.
If the CE only contains a small artbook or weapon/skin in game then I will just get the regular version. What really gets me sold on CE are:
- Action figures.
- Maps (preferably made out of cloth).
- In game quests and story arcs.
- Posters.
However even if the game has some exellent stuff in its CE I might not buy it. A good example is the CE to the game "Alone in the Dark" where the game is so horrible that I could care less for the action figure that it includes.

Neither can I. I've been popping different games into my 360 and getting bored due to the anticipation.

Those cards will be mine! Although, I have this sinking feeling that Gamestop will do something grossly retarded and I'll lose that precious collector's edition.

Depends what's in it. Extra game content? Depends on what it is. Free DLC? Tempting. Soundtrack? MIIIIIIIIIINE!
