I can't be the only person that likes to read comics, and likes both Marvel and DC. I am asking just the very simple question, who is better? Deadpool [Marvel] or Deathstroke [DC]?

My response is simple. I find that Deathstroke is much more serious, more of the quiet assassin. Deadpool is the person I go to for comedy, I don't see him as being the badass with all the action, I see him as the comedian.

INFO: Deadpool is probably more well known to many. Most people know Deathstroke by his title Slade as the villain in the Teen Titans show.

A poll to keep track easily and for people that don't feel like explaining.

Deadpool. Don't get me wrong, Deathstroke is a fascinating villain with the immense benefit of having the voice of the great Ron Perlman, but Deadpool is just more fun to read. I love characters who break the 4th wall like the Joker, and Deadpool does that so often. Plus, he was voiced by Nolan North, someone almost as cool as Mr. Perlman.

I'm predicting a landslide victory for Deadpool on this one because he's hilariously awesome

In a fight, Deadpool would take it, probably, on account of his healing factor and unpredictability. As characters, though, while Deadpool is funnier and more entertaining on a moment to moment basis, Deathsrtoke is more interesting and more badass.

No matter how much I like Deathstroke, I'm afraid that would be the case. Deadpool is nothing more than funny to me. Deathstroke, aside from his current series which is completely fail right now, presents nothing but badass-ness. Today when he presented in comics outside of his series, he is presented in the badass nature. I want whoever is writing him currently to stop...

Also, weird glitch I'm having. I can't see the poll for the thread.

Deathstroke. He fought the Justice League singlehandedly. That's pretty freaking great. And I don't find being funny to be such an important quality in comic book characters.

Interesting look. The factor that made me interested in Deathstroke to begin with was his appearance in Teen Titans, he's so intimidating in that. What I normally do when I want to convince people to look into the character is something recent and visually understandable, which is the cinematic from DC's MMO. Deathstroke using Wonder Woman's lasso to hang Batman and beat him like a pinata with a cinder block.

hmmm,
my only interaction's with Deathstroke is Teen Titan's and DCUO and i found him an enjoyable villian in both, hell, in the 'Carmine Light House' duo where you fight him and Killer Croc at the same time, the exchanges between him a Croc at the end are pretty good (FYI, go for Deathstroke first, he's WAY more dangerous the Croc)

Deadpool on the other hand, i've had very little exposure to, a snippet here and there, but the little i have seen of him, was great (save the crappy wolverine movie >.>)

so ... Deathstroke, by virtue of just 'more of him'

deadpool as i never cared for deathstroke as a character he just seemed to meh for me

plus deadpool's healing factor allows his to pretty much defy everything and be an even more annoying character towards his enemies, which is a positive for me

Given that DC are relying on the reboot to get people interested, and Deathstroke's series is currently shameless and kinda shitty sword porn, Deadpool currently wins it for me.

Before September, though, Deathstroke wins. I was a fan of Slade Wilson pre-reboot (and during flashpoint). Interesting character and a surprisingly sympathetic villain most of the time. Also, in the teen titans TV show, Slade was chillingly effective as the bad guy.

Plus Deadpool's humour starts to grate after a while. That might just be me. Given that he is the anti-hero of the internet, though, he'll probably win the poll contest.

In a fight? It'd be pretty close. Both have very similar healing factors, fighting styles, names, costumes, backstories... Call it a draw, then someone can remind me which publisher stole the idea from the other.

This could be locked due to it being a VS thread.

OT- Honestly I can't decide since they are mostly the same (in fact Deadpool was inspired from Deathstroke since Deadpool is like him but more wacky) since they both got the same surname.

I think I will side with Deathstroke due to how Deadpool had become too popular these days.

and that my friend is where i lose your train of thought...
deadpool was never ment to be a serios assassin/character/hero/chimichanga
in fact deadpool started out as a PARODY of deathstroke! so comparing them is kinda like comparing the justice leuge international to the great lake avengers...
they would probably be the same if they are both taken seriosly...
and after reading septembers deathstroke #1 i hate this character at least until there will be a new writer i mean for fuck sake!
on the other hand deadpool is having a realy fun run in his title lately and even going for a big event soon ("dead" story line that starts in ish #50) that got me exited!
so overall deadpool for being more than just a badass, and being a funny lunatic badass!

You have to understand that Deadpool is actually a parody of Deathstroke. They are taking the "Grim, serious assassin of death" and making him a joke.

Is the Joker a badass? No? Then Deadpool came first.

Deadpool is by far one of the greatest comic book characters I've ever come across. He's sharp, he's ridiculous, he loves chimichangas. What's not to like?

Also, healing factor FTW.

Over the last couple of years I have suffered MASSIVE Deadpool fatigue. He became so over-exposed that he lost his charm. The last Deadpool I enjoyed was Cable and Deadpool (for the first 30 or so issues) though his 90's book rocked hard. I just don't bother reading his books any more. So my vote goes to Slade, because he's a fantastic, multi-layered villain. Or was pre-reboot. Haven't gotten round to reading his solo yet (too many other good books!)

Speaking of the reboot, if you're reading it, get Animal Man and Swamp Thing. The two best books of the reboot and just... AMAZING. Both of them.
