For those who have played it, what do you think? There's a lot of mixed feelings about it from all my friends who play it, and i want to know what others think? Is it really a game of too much multitasking and unnecessary graphics detail, Or an enjoyable WW2 RTS?

I took the taco option, because there is no option saying that I think it's okay.

I don't like Company of Heroes, but it's not a bad RTS, it's just not my style.

I perfer AGe of Empires 3.

Saddest gaming moment of my life was when I heard ensemble studios called it quits a couple months ago. Also, from what I have heard it is great if you like that kind of RTS. I am also into a peon macromanagement system of RTS games, and am not a fan of the modern RTS, but I have heard a lot of good things about COH

I would love to play it. however steam is stupid with that game because i have spent 24 hours downloading what it says is 2gb. When i check the bandwidth monitor it says i've downloaded 8gb and guess what? its still on 0%
Edit: from what all my friends who have played it say its basically a ww2 version of dow1

I love it very much cus it brings something new to both RTS games and WW2 games. Playing as the British (in the 1st expansion) and using four artillary batteries with a walking barrage...muhahah.

But I'd say I prefer World In Conflict over COH though...

I love it, not very good yet but I've won about half me online games after looking into how I should play my chosen army.

But I'm not very good at RTS games and have only really played CnCs, Age3 and Dawn of Wars. Age of Empires is my favourite but this is defiantly a very close second.

Almost all graphics detail is unnecessary, and who complains of multi tasking in an RTS? Go play duckhunt if you just want one thing to do.

I don't really like the series that will never die (like halo) but the one game series I never wanted to die was AoE. AoE 3 was prolly the worst of the series, and it is still better than any RTS game I have played in the last couple of years. I would kill for AoE4, or AoM 2

I just picked it from GamersGate (for 5 euros! :D ), and I think it's a really good RTS, although the micromanagement of your troops can get frustrating at times.

HECK YES!

It's an amazing game. The graphics are good and so is the strategy involved. I like Opposing Fronts more than the original one simply because it has absolutely no focus on base building(You spend 5 seconds deploying 3 trucks then you build units from them. I hardly call that "base building").

CoH is one of my fav RTS of all time!

I've been playing it now for years and most other RTS released in this time do not impress me at all.

I've got VERY mixed feelings about the game.

On one hand, as a game it is one of the best RTS games ever. Complex mechanics, best cover system ever, dynamic terrain, well designed vehicle model with directional damage and battle damage to individual components, squad suppression and morale, just the right amount of "RPG elements" (special weapons and such), etc. At the same time, accessible, easy to get into, simple to control. All in all, a masterfully crafted underlying game that has yet to be matched, and likely won't be (since Starcraft 2 is about as innovative as a clay brick).

On the other hand, it's World War 2. And it's not even WW2 with a twist or set in a previously unexplored theatre of war or anything. It's freaking NORMANDY and FRANCE all over again. For the 100th time. It's not that I mind repeating tropes, but this is the EXACT same thing I've seen over and over again, and I never liked WW2 to begin with. For this reason I've never been able to finish the game. If they were to remove the WW2 setting and put it in modern times, or future, or medieval, or fantasy, or practically anything, I'd eat it up and beg for more.

I was kinda hoping Dawn of War 2 would be like this, merging the awesome gameplay of CoH with one of my favourite established settings, but then Relic decided to make a massive dick move and strip the gameplay down, scale down the epic action, slap in a bunch of RPG elements and call it a day. It made me a sad panda...

It's better this way. My family have been playing every single Age of game right up until 3, which we only played a little. They quit after making some of the finest gaming moments ever conceived by man, and they should be happy.

Age of Mythology is incredible.

OT : Awesome game. Not played much but the occasional skirmish, but it is very good.

I love it. Not a die-hard RTS fan but it is extremely well-crafted. Probably the most realistic game I've played.
