Hey all,

So first off, it's my first post :-D
I've been a member for a while but mainly just sit quietly reading articles and watching ZP ;-)

Anyway, I found my self thinking the other day "My god...I have 25 unfinished games on steam alone..." - Now granted a good 5-6 are 'open-world` games, and 6 are games I got `thrown in` via humble bundle or steam christmas sales!

I always play each one for short bursts of a few weeks (on-and-off mind, Im not just REALLY bad a games) and switch....it can be a while to get back through them again!

Anyone else have this sort of trouble, or is it just me!

Welcome to the forums, good sir!

No going in the basement, by the way. But you knew that already.

[sub]Not after the last time, not ever again[/sub]

Ahem. I play my games through if I can, if they frustrate me or I get stuck then I shift to something else for a while and come back later. Unless I don't.

Many thanks!

I tried to do that - the chirstmas break from Medical School gave me time to demolish Halo Reach, Bioshock, DOWII and most of Bioshock 2. But I find real life slows me down :-(

I am a bit of a perfectionist with a slight case of OCD. I will plough through a game well beyond the loss of fun. Only when something becomes worse than work will I quit to move onto something new.

I always seem to have games laying around unfinished.
I got bioshock at launch, played a couple of hours then put it down thinking "I'll play some more in a while"... only got round to finishing the thing around xmas just gone.
Crysis, that's another one, I always play it to around the same point of the game, put it down after enjoying it, then forget what was going on and start over from scratch a few months later.
Got loads like that, some of it is a real life getting in the way things, but alot of it is just poor management of my free time.

I have quite a few that I need to finish, and some of those I need to fully complete. I don't know if it's some kinda OCD thing but it bothers when I didn't do every single thing I can do in a game, like the trials in the God of War games, I have to go back and finish those.

I'm terrible at finishing single-player games. The last two single-player games that I have finished were Red Dead Redemption, and Mass Effect 2. Before that it had to have been Uncharted 2.

I also find myself playing games in bursts, and then set them down for weeks. But, I usually consider a game really great if it keeps me interested/invested from start-to-finish.

I have a tendency to buy new games before I've completed the ones I already have, for instance, I brought bioshock 1,2 and condemned 2 for christmas and haven't completed any of them, but I brought black and white 2 and mass effect 1 last week as its my birthday soon. Though most of the games I currently have I've completed at least once save the ones mentioned.

I generally try to finish the games I start, but sometimes I'm unable to due to awkward controls or I'm just not interested enough in the story.

I notice a nice `bell-shaped` curve forming (no laughing now...) seems most are in the middle.

My current scenario: Minecraft was causing alot of more polished games grief by stealing my time. Luckily Torchlight came to save me - played that alot for about 2-3 weeks now. Inexplicably I saw Tropico 3 on my list and thought, you know what......

Luckily my GF is OBSESSED with CSI so it keeps her busy ;-)

Unless, of course, there's a reward...in which case, plough through even further to reach said reward before moving onto something else.
That about sums me up.

i don't buy many games so those i do get i play a few times. don't like starting a game before i've finished one i'm doing. if i get a new game and i'm half way through one i've done before then sure, i'll play the new one but i won't get another new one until i've done the first one

I try not to start something and not finish it, but I drink and play games a lot so around beer seven or eight I'll be like, "Man...I really wanna try ." Then I'll start it, do like, a story mission and a half, then it's on the docket for months at a time unless it's really, really good (like Half-Life 2)

Right now on my docket I have:

- The last level of Psychonauts
- Stacking
- Assassin's Creed
- Planescape Torment
- InFamous

Plus an assload of games I haven't even started yet.
