I am a bit of a perfectionist with a slight case of OCD. I will plough through a game well beyond the loss of fun. Only when something becomes worse than work will I quit to move onto something new.
Unless, of course, there's a reward...in which case, plough through even further to reach said reward before moving onto something else.
That about sums me up.
There was at the end of FFXIII. The only trophy left to get is the every item gold (and therefore the platinum that comes with it). I have calculated approx. 15 hours of grind to get it. I just can't be arsed. I know, it goes against everything I believe too, but that sounds worse than work by a long shot.

I tend to finish what I start however there are some I lose interest in and never finish. I usually end up selling them too.

I have many games that I haven't finished. I sometimes go back to them and Ialso have a fairly large list of games that I am planning to play.

I almost never complete games. In fact, never mind completing games, there are some games I have which I haven't even started.

Back on topic, most of the time if I haven't completed a game it's because it required grinding of some sort, which after about 10 minutes I get bored of. Which would be fine, except a good chunk of my collection is made up of JRPGs which pretty much require it.

I'll generally try to get through a game before I move on. But every now and then I'll grab a new release and end up playing that one through before remembering that I have a half finished game sat on the shelves.
In contrast though, I also have a decent sized pile of games I haven't even put in the console yet as I was determined to finish the one I was working on first. Given that I don't get a lot of time to play, a single game can take me a while to do and so this pile keeps getting bigger. I do plan on eventually completing them all... ... ... one day.

I used to be play a game, complete it, go onto another one.
These days I have several games "on the go" but I do aim to complete them.

Recently I've been playing Gish and Alpha Protocol (I'm enjoying it, but can only seem to play 2-3 missions before wanting a break). I did play a good chunk of Torchlight the other week, but I only tend to play that if I've got some kind of idle break or ill lol.

Completed not so long ago: Sam & Max: Devil's Playhouse, Puzzle Agent (randomly found it in my Steam list, musta come with one of the indie bundles I got).

There's a lot of unplayed stuff on my Steam account. Sooo gonna get round to it darnit!

I tend to finish most games, but much as I love them I have a problem with the big long 40+ hour RPGs. *cough* dragon age, witcher *cough* and its that although I want to finish off the story, I'm bored of the technical execution of killing the endless hordes of mobs.

Uh, I own way too many games to finish--hundreds, counting previous generations. But of the Xbox games I own, I finished about twelve of seventy (though maybe fifteen of them I made significant progress in--half of the game or more), and this generation I've beat:

-- No More Heroes
-- Super Mario Galaxy
-- Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
-- DragonBall Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3
-- Batman: Arkham Asylum
-- Red Dead Redemption

Though I've beat 50% or more of:

-- BioShock
-- Assassin's Creed II
-- Super Mario Galaxy 2
-- Civilization: Revolution
-- Dead Space: Extraction
-- Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
-- GoldenEye 007
-- RE:make (Wii)

I still buy games like I'm not a 30 year old man with a child. Needless to say my backlog is pretty outrageous.

Pfft, i can go one better...
There were these half-bear half-man things in World of Warcraft that would give you a reward for reaching the highest reputation level with them. You start out at the lowest end, something like hated, and have to grind (and i do mean grind) to reach exalted.
You have to kill these "enemy" bear-men to gain reputation, and you need to kill around 2000 of them to go from the second highest reputation level to the very highest level.
I managed to get that far before i realised what the hell i was doing...

The long term effects are astonishing...you see, at the time, i was listening to one of the Gorrilaz' albums. Whenever any of those songs come on, i get flashbacks of my grind-time and shiver...

I have one of my patented Phoenix's Fun Facts about this but I forgot what it was. Well, I remember what it was, but I forget the exact figure. It was one of those throw away interesting things lecturers say which you try to remember but always forget.

But only a third of all video games ever get completed. I mean individual copies of course, not the games themselves. That would be something though.

I try to play them through to the end but if they suck or something better comes out before than I have been known to shelve a few games for awhile.

I usually work my way through games like this:
Play through my favorites quickly and push my way through shitloads of games over a 2year span :p
And for some reasons I love playing like this.
Oh, and I really want to finish Resonance of Fate :D

I try to finish most games before starting others, but I definitely have a few games that I play almost on a daily basis regardless of whatever else I'm playing. CoD4 and WoW are a daily routine for me, basically.
