There's this thing called "binds" meaning you can change the scheme to whatever you like :D

Seriously, gaming PCs (even ones you build yourself) cost WAY too much. This is probably because companies lose money on every console they sell that is made up in game revenue. The wii is the first console since the NES (or one of those other old ass ones) to make a profit just by selling the console itself (may explain lack of good games since Mario Galaxy).

Companies that make PC parts on the other hand don't have games to sell that make them their money back. They actually have to make a decent profit on their wares. This means that a pc with enough power to handle a graphics heavy game (most of them now) requires a lot o money. Money I don't have.

I'm not talking about bad keybinds, I'm talking about the actual mouse and keyboard. It feels uncomfortable to me, especially for FPS. I know that sounds insane, but dual analog just feels better and faster to me.

I really don't understand those who say "PC gaming is complicated". If one can post on the Escapist or open an application, a web browser for example, that's enough computer knowhow. (+you can plug in your controller and use emulators, yadda yadda blah blah...) A mouse and keyboard setup is only a matter of learning. I don't suppose anyone was a master with a console controller the first time they held one?
Admitted, proper gaming PCs can be pricy. But even a $600 kit will handle nearly everything just fine. It's the high end stuff that has a pricetag that says "your soul".

Depends really. Ican't judge all PC gamers since Ihave never talked with them all. Just like console gamers some seem pretty cool, some are elitist dicks and some are whiny spoiled brats.

Right. Pretty much, speaking as someone who classes himself as a console gamer, but still has a high-end PC. I think that PC gamers are practically all arrogant, ignorant, elitist bullshitters who think console players are below them.

In my honest opinion, I prefer any game on a console. I don't mind that my graphics are very slightly worse, I prefer everything else.

In any case; I guess that it can be summed up by this:

There are a lot of console gamers who are pre-pubescant annoying spoiled brats, but there are a lot of PC gamers who are much much worse, who say "Oh, it's not how we want it, therefore it's shit." and say "Console... fuck off, you're crap because you don't have as good graphics and we were beaten with a bat of frozen stupid when we were younger".

I've been using way too many ZP quotes recently.

I would be a PC gamer but for one thing.

I can't get on with the mouse and keyboard.
Most of them are cool but some are not.
Wired 360 controller + usb port + free interweb drivers (not always needed)= Pc gaming without the mouse and keyboard cramping your style. Fairly pointless for cross released games I know but for the PC exclusives.

I don't have a very good PC for gaming so I only play older games like Fallout 1 and 2, Half-Life and it's expansions,Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 etc. These games are good but not much better than some other consoles games I could be playing. The PC has it's good exclusives but like I say for all consoles, it's the multi-platform games that are the best. there are a few expectations here and there but in the majority of cases it is the multi-platform titles that are better.

In regards to PC gamers, I do sometimes find them annoying. Generally speaking I have nothing against them and console players can be just as bad, but whenever something doesn't go their way they chuck a fit about it. Take the L4D2 boycott for example, how many consoles gamers did you see trolling Valve over their decision to release number two a year after number one? When Gears of War 2 was not coming to the PC, people chucked a fit, which I would understand if the game did well but it seems to have flopped on the PC. Obviously there would have been some people upset but not to the same amount of complainers that I saw on this forums. The MW2 and StarCraft II issues have shown that if a PC game leaves something out than it causes a great deal of strife. While I do believe that MW2 should have a sever list and modibility (I don't think thats a word), with StarCraft II a LAN service, the amount of anger that PC gamers generate over this makes it seem to me that PC gamers believe that they are owed something by the developers.

I think that the reason for this is the nature of PC gaming. The time, effort and cost of maintaining a good PC compared to the time, effort and cost of maintaining a console is vastly different. I think that because of the effort put into maintaining a PC, PC gamers believe that the are entitled to a better experience than the console players. When the console players are getting an equal or better experience they chuck a fit because they get a better experience for smaller pay off.

At least it may seem that console gamers get a better pay off but the truth is we don't. We just don't ***** about all the problems we have, well not as much as PC players anyway.

Well, I'm a console gamer and a pc gamer, so I guess that means I like them.

EDIT: Oh, sorry. I didn't see the note at the top of your post. Never mind.

I hate how PC gamers consider themselves superior, because, as an ex-computer gamer, I feel that the console dominates PC's.

I'm a bit of a mix but I feel that PC players (on average) tend to be more invested in gaming (massive gaming rig and all) but a lot of them are elitist idiots who are worse than console fanboys.

PC gamers live in a much better community than console gamers. They also get much better versions of any multiplatform game, in addition to mods.

I'm a console gamer, but I spent a good chunk of my life (about 6 years) dedicated to PC gaming over console.

Well, I played WOW for a little bit (I know, I know, I've seen the light now though), and generally, I don't see why PC gamers have all the hate on us.

They seem to be the New Zealand to the console gamer's Australia.

Faster? AHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Sorry.
I think you just haven't played enough hours on PC.
Believe me, I used to only play on consoles, and then I got a few PC games and my aiming improved 10 fold.
I also found out all the extra shit I could do
Like chatting while gaming, and actually finding DEDICATED servers.

I also am now heavily into modding, as the first game I got was HL, and the second HL2.
I make custom maps for the Source engine which you can't play on console.
Bugs are fixed easier and I can change my models and retexture pretty much everything.

The only benefit of console gaming that I have encountered is the fact that it makes casual gaming easier. Playing with a group of friends is easier with a console as you don't need several systems and can just split screen.

Still if I had the choice between group console gaming or going to a LAN cafe with friends I'd still pick the cafe.

I have nothing against consoles at all, but the better option will always be the PC in my mind.
(unless you want MW2, as they are removing what makes PC awesome)
