I don't game online very often, at all. I don't use my gaming console to watch TV or movies, to browse the web or do anything other than play damned video games. Most of the games out there are just plain boring wastes of money to me (most of the Call of Duty style games, any of the fighting games, racing games, sports games, etc. are games I just don't care about in the least) so the idea of getting two of them free every month has no positive impact on me whatsoever. Particularly if I have to download them, taking up my bandwidth (which, because I don't use enough bandwidth during the month to justify having it unlimited, is actually fairly limited) for something I'm going to use once or twice, decide "This isn't my thing." and delete it.

So Option 3 it is. The only internet connection I want with my gaming system is one that lets me browse for DLC, download system and game patches and updates and gives me the option of paying for online play if I ever do find a game that I'm willing to both play on a console AND want to play online.

Free games!

When PS+ came out I was "well, that's for chumps" but I wish I would have subbed to it earlier! I've been subbed for about 2 months and have already got Assassins creed 3 (which I already had but still), spec ops the line, revengence, dragons dogma: Dark arisen, xcom, farcry 3, Jak and daxter trilogy, stealth inc and some others

Just the value I've gotten so far is amazing! I paid like £40 or 50 for a year and to be honest, if they cut off the subscription now I would be ok with it. I always wanted to play far cry 3 but just wasn't financially possible at release and it was always a "I'll get around to playing it one day" (but we all know we never get round to them games) but I completed the story the other week. I wanted to try spec ops the line but didn't want to really buy it, so I got to try it with PS+. Really want to play revengence but for some reason it wont install on my PS3 but it would be great if I could play it. Dragons dogma is a nice but weird game being able to jump is nice and the vocation system is nice in one way but limiting in another.

Free games, huh.

How about all that "supporting the devs" rhetoric? I find it a little amazing.

People pay 15 a month to play WoW. That's just one game. Id rather pay 50 a year for all online games, than over 100 a year for one game.

Im used to Xbox Live, so I have no issue with paying sub fees for Xbox or Playstation, but I make use of it. If I get some bonus stuff, then cool.

Free online play. The amount of times I actually played online can be counted on 2 fingers (only once). At least I wouldn't have to worry about paying for something I'm never going to use if it was free.

It is still supporting the devs though, Sony would have to pay publishers a good deal of money to be able to put the games up on PS+

Free online play I bought your game and might payup for some good dlcs but I'm broke off and on as most people are and I don't want to have to pay to play all modes. Also you have to put up with the crappy people if I'm paying to be there having them sing horribly as idol wannabes or abusively bash players isn't why I'm there. Paying for that just makes me feel like I'm wasting my money when morons show up if its free I've got nothing, I now just put up with them but its not my wallet on top of it and I if I'm broke it means the company thinks I'm not a valuable customer cuz I don't pay them the toll each month to be apart of their servers.

Free online play.

Isn't what that what I'm paying my internet bill and $60.00 for?

Captcha: no regrets.

You fucking bet. Feel a tiny bit bad for the people who have opt to pay for something that should and was free previously. But oh well. It's their money.

Except the entire infrastructure around games like WoW is online. Online isn't an aspect of MMO's. It's what the games are all about. They are purely multiplayer based.

Most PS4 games are not that. It is an aspect of the game. Which depending on whether or not it's not a complete piece of trash varies in value.

Charging for something that's advertised on the box for an additional $4.00 a month feels like a scam to me.

Free games be damned.

I chose Free Online Play. Free games are great I hate having to pay for a game continually, after the initial purchase. I also don't consider digital games to be something that I actually own...it's a hang-up I have you see...

Well, games with gold did give me Assassin's Creed 2 and Dead Rising 2 for free, so that's good.

However, I choose BUZZ LIGHTYEAR!

"What? That's not a choice!"

This is a tough one. I have subscribed to PSN+ for a long time now in part because of cloud saving and in part because of the free games and if I get a PS4 I will likely keep up my subscription simply because so far I've only needed to buy 4 games for my console.

However as a PC gamer I am used to getting my online play for free. I like it that way since it means that those rare occasions where I actually want to play online I can do that. The only game I have played online the past 8 months have been Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii U and usually that have been played on my 3DS while linking with my friend's Wii U and my other friend's 3DS. Paying for online means I have to keep it around just in case.

Now let it be said that regardless of this I don't like the way Microsoft is doing it with barring other services behind Xbox Live too. I sometimes like to watch Netflix on my TV and then it's easier to do this with a console than to move my computer close enough to my TV to connect it and I won't have to trip over a HDMI cable. However on the Xbox 360 you need Gold for this. Yes, I need to pay Microsoft money to access a service that I am already paying for. Online, fine? Netlix? More reason for me to use the Wii U (I could use the PS3/PS4, but Wii U has an awesome UI).
