I don't game online very often, at all. I don't use my gaming console to watch TV or movies, to browse the web or do anything other than play damned video games. Most of the games out there are just plain boring wastes of money to me (most of the Call of Duty style games, any of the fighting games, racing games, sports games, etc. are games I just don't care about in the least) so the idea of getting two of them free every month has no positive impact on me whatsoever. Particularly if I have to download them, taking up my bandwidth (which, because I don't use enough bandwidth during the month to justify having it unlimited, is actually fairly limited) for something I'm going to use once or twice, decide "This isn't my thing." and delete it.
So Option 3 it is. The only internet connection I want with my gaming system is one that lets me browse for DLC, download system and game patches and updates and gives me the option of paying for online play if I ever do find a game that I'm willing to both play on a console AND want to play online.
