Probably not. Not because I would hate them for believing differently than me, but because I don't see how we could get along. We wouldn't be able to talk about much without getting into arguments...

if you love them, it doesn't matter (the Beatle's song "all you need is love" comes to mind)

I'm going out with a vegetarian. I eat three different animals a day. It seems to be going quite nicely, though I do seem to be spending more on mouthwash than phone calls.

I probably could because I don't bring it up much, it would just have to be someone who is similar. I doubt I could handle a heavy duty type.

A few girls that I've been attracted to, and one girl that I am attracted to right now, are religious. I'm quite agnostic/deist. I don't really care if she believes something more strongly than I do. As long as it's not force on me, I don't care. Or if it keeps us from doing anything fun.
The weird thing, usually these girls are the ones that are into stuff that I like.
Religion is more of a choice than love.

Sure, it'd keep things interesting and there'd always be a person to debate with

why should it matter what relign they are. if they are intelligent people that dont try and force their views on everyone else i would be fine with just about anything. A good debate is a lot of fun also.

Could everyone please be more clear with thread titles in future.

Ayway, I have no religious bliefs whatsoever, yes that includes atheism. THus meaning that anyone who is diametrically opposed in religious belief would have to accept every piece of bulls**t they came across. If I ever met anyone like that, I would be thinking less about dating and more about getting them sectioned.

No way, I just couldn't date a hard core religious person. I might as well go date someone from an insane asylum, or a cultist.
I agree with this. To the point where some religious people I know might as well -be- cultists.

That said, I have no problem with it if they respect me.

Unfortunately, if they are "STRONGLY" religious, they'd probably be trying to convert me, or just be really sad or scared all the time because I'd be going to hell when I died (Or the equivalent) and they want their afterlife to include me in it as well.

Or whatever.

I don't mind if someone's religious, that's fine. Dating someone like that is okay, as long as they're willing to understand my point of view of "Look, I really don't give a shit, and I hope you realize I don't need to hear a conversion speech every day."

They wanna pray with me? I probably won't do it.
They wanna pray before we have dinner? That's cool.
They want me to go to church? Eh, maybe for the social aspect, but I'd much rather not.
They want me to get confirmed to marry them? That's too bad.

etc.

I wouldn't even TOUCH an overly religious girl. My hand would catch on fire.. Then she'd probably throw a giant copy of the bible at me.
But if it was someone who was a different religion/philosophy than me, I would, just as long as she didn't try to convert me at every freaking possible opputunity, and kept away from those awkward moments where people ask me what my views on the afterlife are.

Nah, I don't think I could, but solely on the fact that I would constantly worry about them if it were to end up being a serious type of thing, which it most likely would. I don't start a relationship like that unless I'm looking for a serious one.

Depends on several points, including how pushy she is about her views, how enjoyable she is otherwise, and how big her tits are.

That's the historical reason. Luther challenged Catholic power, corruption, and frankly weird practices and the Pope said "Heresy, murder that heathen!" and their feud was born. (seems like a one-sided view but anyone who doesn't think that the Medieval Catholic church was a corrupt, power-hungry organization is a fool).

As for me, yes I could date someone like that. Having a long-term relationship would probably be impossible though.

Probably not, because the opposite of utter indifference would mean they would either be a hardcore athiest or a hardcore thiest...
