i could never date a religious person - not even a 'moderately' religious person. i intend to have at least four children, and raising them to believe in an invisible dictator that lives in the sky is NOT an option. i also need my partner to agree with me politically, more or less.

I can't really say for certain.
There is this chick I know who is VERY religious.
But I'm not into her for different reasons... I think?

My ex was a catholic, supporting the political party I consider to be an example of what is wrong with society today. We still had a lovely time together. I did, honestly, only find out the latter thing after we broke up, to be honest.

I suppose that's a yes. I would probably make fun of the person a bit for it (and expect exactly the same back), and mildly try to sway the person into a direction I found more appropriate, but I wouldn't force my beliefs on anyone, and I wouldn't make fun of anyone too much either.

I'm liberal, democrat, pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, and an atheist. I could never date someone with opposite views than me.

I need someone who has the same views as me so that he wants our life to go in the same direction. I need someone who has the same beliefs as me so that I will have support for any choices that I make in life. In the past I have dated people of different religious affiliations and political affiliations and it didn't work. My choices weren't respected, and instead were viewed as 'wrong.'

In addition, I'm at the point with relationships were I'm dating for keeps. I mean the whole deal... marriage and kids. If I marry someone one who has different views than me, what would I teach my children? Would they go to church with their father on Sunday and then come home to listen to Richard Dawkins lectures with me? In the long run, dating some one with different views won't work out.

Meh.

I'm not Religious, I don't believe in God or the bible, but I wouldn't mind if a girl I dated did. After all, my current girl does believe to some extent.
