Now that game is the epitome of survival horror.Arcticflame said:Yes it could be done, but It'd have to be indie. I don't see any mainstream producers hopping on board with it.
But I really hope we get to the stage where it is possible, I don't really see why a game lke that would be a good idea, but the point I'm making is more aimed at reducing the Church's power over society than producing a high class game. Freedom of speech.

That monster scarred my childhood.
No, that's Discworld.MaxTheReaper said:You have to kill his followers. That's where he gets his power.Abedeus said:How? I mean, unless you somehow make the character into a God, you can't kill an omnipotent being. Gods that were killed in GoW are not omnipotent and are NOT invincible or unkillable. Besides, he could just pick up Mt. Fuji and drop on your sorry ass.
That is, if you tried to attack him directly.
It's a fact.
That's what makes it so much fun. A game about killing half the world, who wouldn't want to see that?Abedeus said:Our God is... Oh, wait, the same. Nevermind, carry on. Good luck killing every Christian (half the world?) and every Jew (same God) and Muslim (same God, but different name).
Assassinator said:Kratos kills gods in God of War, so ofcourse it's been done. Whereither it's the Christian/Jewish/Islamic god, Greek gods, Hindu gods, etc etc etc, they're all gods. Ofcourse the difference is, that the Christian/Jewish/Islamic god is pretty damned populair right now, while Greek, Roman, Egyptian or Norse gods are not.
I think he can't create people per se. He can't create souls... I guess.Samurai Goomba said:As a Christian, I believe it absolutely could be made. There seems to be a great deal of anti-Christian sentiment nowadays, to the point I think such a game could make it through. Besides, we had Silent Hill 3, didn't we? Let people make whatever they want, as long as it's a good game.
As for how your character would even be ABLE to kill an omnipotent God, that's another story... Part of the reason Painkiller was able to use the Devil is because he's not all-powerful, just powerful in comparison to humans.
And couldn't an omnipotent God keep creating followers? So much for that theory.
CmdrGoob said:The Christian god, maybe. But if you really want to set of a shitstorm, try Allah...
This point exactly.Mindex said:The game could be made but I dont think many people would buy it.
Obviously he could create souls if it was some version of the Christian God. I mean, check out Genesis. I guess they could work the battle like a lot of video game fights, where you have the boss and his infinite waves of reinforcements.Abedeus said:Assassinator said:Kratos kills gods in God of War, so ofcourse it's been done. Check your mythology. Greek, Roman (THE SAME GODS - Romans just ripped them off, and every other god they found interesting) and especially Norse gods are vulnerable. And could be killed. Hell, all Norse gods are already dead! Greek ones can bleed, they could die. I mean, Thanatos got even trapped for a loooong time by a mortal.
Christian, Jewish and Muslim God is omnipotent. He can't be killed, only silenced by lack of worshippers. Not to mention, all the terrorists would immediately bomb the developing team for showing an image of their God.
